Market stall of the week: Sweet Beets

  • Food & Booze
Everything about the market stall we’re drooling over this week is sweet. From their sweet name to their sweet market set up, we would have been drawn to the cute stall even if our eye hadn’t been caught by the raw healthy treats that had us saying ‘Sweet Jesus!’ Sweet Beets is all about treats that are good for you, with most of their luscious cakes and slices vegan, raw and free of refined sugar, dairy and preservatives, packed with nuts, coconut butter and superfoods instead.  And while we’re always spouting platitudes about the latest raw treats we’ve found each week, these cakes are something else. Your attention will be drawn to the perfectly crafted slices with marble swirls and colourful toppings, in flavours like raw snickers, passionfruit cheesecake and white chocolate. You and their choc mint slices might be ‘mint’ to be, but it’s their cappuccino slice that had our heart fluttering like we thought only espresso martinis could achieve. sweet beets brisbane markets 2 Sweet Beets also offers bliss balls, acai bowls, protein smoothies and chia pudding, but if we were you, we’d be ordering one of their mini raw cheesecakes in advance. Whether you’ve got something to celebrate or not, a date with one of these salted caramel or Jaffa cheesecakes (just to name a few) at just the right size for a few friends (or just you) is nut an experience you want to miss. You’ll need to get in touch with them if you want one of those cakes, but if it’s just a weekend treat you want, you’ll find Sweet Beets at Jan Power’s Farmers Markets in New Farm or the Red Hill Markets.
