With our new year, new us diets well underway, those sweet pavlovas and fruit mince pies from Christmas probably seem like a distant, delicious memory, right? Well chia up, Brisbane, because we’ve found a solution to your #eatclean for 2016 woes that will leave you feeling fine! You may have noticed that it’s becoming rather trendy to ‘zoodle’ your noodles and ‘mylk’ every nut under the sun, but you never could have guessed that tossing the pots, pans and processed junk could lead to the creation of incredibly delicious and oh-so-nutritious raw treats that taste even better than the real deal! Ames, the totally rawsome chef behind Raw and Peace, one of Brisbane’s most creative and health-savvy stalls, came to the raw food lifestyle from the dark side of a bad diet. Determined to share her love of nutrient dense and amazingly tasty raw food with Brisbane, she’s been delighting the taste buds of Brisbane market growers ever since. From raw cheesecakes and chocolate bars to roasted vegan pizzas and cold pressed coffees, you’ll find something to tempt you over to her way of eating no matter how much of a skeptic you are. Salted caramel and chocolate wagon wheels are so delicious they’re usually the first thing to go, but even if you slept in you’ll still find (cross fingers) the amazing raw choc chip cookies and plenty of other goodies – all gluten free, refined sugar free and vegan!
