Market stall of the week: Ice Cream Curls

Roll up, roll up! For we’ve found the coolest, creamiest new flavour sensation to hit Brisbane’s ice cream scene. Forget soft serves and simple scoops, Ice Cream Curls are the latest, grooviest way to eat ice cream with a twist – literally! Just when you thought you had seen all the ice cream world had to offer, along comes a new trend that will have you screaming for the frozen treat anew. Ice Cream Curls creates drool-worthy treats right in front of your eyes, using the magic of an ice pan, which turns creamy milk and flavourings into ice cream in a matter of seconds, ready to be curled into rolls and spooned into your waiting mouth. First you choose your flavours from the short but oh-so-scrumptious list (with Nutella, Milo and Tim Tam on the menu, do you really need any other options?). Then you choose a couple of tasty toppings like caramel sauce or sprinkles and watch the curling happen! Scooped up into a cup and drizzled with sauce, they’re like an ice cream rose – as long as you eat it before it melts! We’re calling it, this is the summer sensation that will be filling your Instagram feed very soon. At the moment you’ll only find Ice Cream Curls at the Eumundi Markets every Saturday from 7am-2pm, but we’re crossing our fingers they’ll be coming this way soon! Words by Caroline Tully
