Let's get quizzical: Brisbane's tastiest trivia nights

Sometimes when you’re on the 9-to- 5 grind, up studying until absurd hours of night or just plain busy, it’s safe to say that most of us are hangin’ out for the weekend to blow off some steam. However, as a wise meme once said… What if I told you that you didn’t have to wait for clock off on Friday to have a bit of fun? Ladies and gentlemen, gather your best Trivia Newton-John and John Trivia-oltas (or at least your pals that are masters of useless information) and help us Make Trivia Great Again by checking out Brisbane’s best venues for some weekday trivia goodness, complete with tasty bites and bevs.

On Wednesdays, you can say ‘hay’ to this weekly trivia night. We don’t know what’s better, the six prizes on offer or the $12 burgers and pulled pork tacos. Either way, it’s definitely time to stop horsing around and get yourselves to Stables Craft Bar!

Victoria Park | Herston

Whether you’re a British History buff or just like to keep up with a certain famous family, Victoria Park’s Thursday night trivia has something for everyone, with a new theme each week and rad prizes up for grabs. Enjoy classic trivia night feasts like burgers, fish ‘n’ chips and pizza as you slice up the competition with your knowledge.

Known to many for its Sunday sessions, the Fox Hotel also has trivia every Wednesday with $4 pizzas and $5 burgers from 6pm-8pm and heaps of prizes (jackpot included) to win. Warning – you may have to sing and dance.

Aether Brewing | Milton

Enjoy microbrews and a great selection of BBQ dishes and more while you smash the competition and your meal. Trivia nights are on Tuesdays, which are also known for being the most productive day of the week – so make the most of it!

The Pineapple Hotel | Kangaroo Point

Fuel your trivia powers with a juicy $10 rump steak available from 5pm every Thursday night, followed by the quiz at 7pm – for just $3pp! There’s no reservations, just rock up (rock ‘n’roll was coined by Alan Freed) and first in best dressed!

If themed trivia is your strong suit, Shady Palms is the place for you – one Wednesday you’ll be in 742 Evergreen Terrace and the next you will be in the Upside Down. It’s the pop culture references that will get you to the door, but the Wing and Beer specials that will make you want to stay.

What is better than trivia and parmy on a Wednesday? FREE TRIVIA (and cheap enough parmys) on a Wednesday. The New Farm Bowls Club awards prizes to 1 st , 2 nd , and 2 nd last – so come on down if you’ve got what it takes… or if you really, really don’t.

For some fierce competition, the Flying Cock’s “Cocky Trivia” is a winner winner chicken dinner (literally, the chicken is amazing). With a happy hour in between rounds, meat trays, and a cash jackpot, there’s no better place to spend your Tuesday night. Weeknight trivia is a no-brainer (requiring at least some brains). The only thing left to do now is find your Quizteama Aguilera’s. Words by Sophia Lunn and Hayley Goodlich from Brisbane Bar Scene – the gourmands who are ready to get Quizzical.
