Fortitude Valley’s cosiest new precinct, Bakery Lane, has a hot new spot that just rolled up their doors. Tucked away behind the cocktail central that is Laruche, kiosk. is serving up simple eats with a modern cafe twist. When it comes to a fast daytime feed, their mouthwatering snacks are right up our alley (pun intended). If you regularly reminisce back to the old school tuck shop days, kiosk. will ring your bell, dishing out takeaway eats that even the canteen ladies would be impressed with. Bringing a new style of eating to the Valley, kiosk’s breakfast of avocado tartine with homemade labne, broad beans and mint is possibly the hottest contender for the ‘Best avo on toast 2015’ trophy. kiosk 2If you’re not one of the rushed Valley workers frantically grabbing a container of lunch to take back to your desk, you can sit down for some al fresco dining in the laneway and enjoy a bit of serenity (while planning your next retail assault) with their crispy pork belly sandwich with fennel and apple slaw, cucumber pickles and Swiss cheese. Or, if you’re after something a little kinder to your shredding regime, the quinoa, beetroot and pea tendril salad with tahini, avocado and pepitas may be the answer to healthy eating in the Valley. But kiosk. is no one-trick-pony, with plans for the eatery to link Laruche with new venue The Apo, which is set to open with a bang later this year. After dark on Fridays and Saturdays, kiosk. transforms into an outdoor bar, serving up the delish cocktails Laruche is so well known for.
