  • Food & Booze
The official heat wave might be almost over but according to our forecast, March 19 is going to be a scorcher. How can we be certain? Because Kettle & Tin is bringing the heat with their fifth annual Chili Cook Off! Yes, our beloved Brewsvegas is just around the corner and with it comes a celebration involving one of our favourite Paddington spots, a whole lot of beer and even more chili. While Kelis may think that milkshakes bring all the boys to the yard, for the last four years it’s been chili that had everyone flocking to Kettle & Tin and they are cranking the heat up another notch this year with 9 venues competing for the Chili Master title on Sunday. This year’s competitors include both some familiar faces, and some new ones, with Super What Not, Netherworld, The Priory, Chingon, Aether Brewery, Master Stock, Seymour’s and Winner Winner, with The Shank Brothers joining the crew to be the official judges (how do we get that job?). chili cook off 2While chili is the name of the game, let’s not forget that this event is a part of the Brewsvegas line up, which means there will be plenty of craft beers from breweries like Stone & Wood, Young Henrys and Pirate Life Brewing to extinguish the fire in your mouth – if you can’t fit it in after all that chili. It’ll only cost you $15 to get in the gate where you’ll be given a badge and a beer before you get to work tasting all the delicious chili concoctions. Once you’ve done the rounds, put in your vote for your favourite of the 9 and see who takes out the 2017 chili master title. You chili con carne’t miss it! Stay up to date with all the details and let them know you’re attending here. Words by Kate Streader
