Celebrate Bar Alto’s return with a luxe Italian lunch!
We see feasting on the horizon.
Calories don’t count in winter.
If you’re anything like us, you’re coming out of this lockdown period with a slight dependency on food and a newfound admiration for Brisbane’s hospitality community. Now that we can, let’s get out there and support our locals, eat and drink our weekends away, and turn 2020 around!
Can you tell we’re crazy excited about this one!? Bar Alto is making its much-anticipated return on Thursday, July 9. It’s so close we can almost taste that braised duck ragu…
To celebrate, they’re holding a long lunch on Saturday, July 11, with a multi-course set menu complete with some of their tastiest dishes from recent years. Bookings for Bar Alto’s return lunch are available for groups of four or more, and can be made by emailing email@example.com.
Our month of carb-loading kicks off on July 1, with the opening of Potato Boy on King Street. The chilled-out joint will celebrate the humble deep-fried potato and all the delicious things that can go with it. At Potato Boy, you can expect to munch on beer-battered fish and chips, a buttermilk fried chicken burger with double-smoked bacon, and even a chip butty!
Saturday, July 4 will see La Macelleria’s Teneriffe store celebrate its sixth birthday with a low-key, but hella delicious special. La Macelleria will be bringing back their five most popular specials for one day only, including mint choc-chip, coconut with white chocolate and lime, crunchy peanut butter, rum chocolate sorbet, and strawberries and cream. That brain freeze will be so worth it.
Tex-Mex icon El Camino Cantina is set to launch their July marg of the month, aptly named the Red, White and Booze. Served in a chalice and garnished with blue pop rocks, the strawberry and lemonade-flavoured margarita is topped off with a float of Grand Marnier. Book yourself a table here to taste this beauty!
We’ve come to love One Fish Two Fish’s Red Fish Blue Fish collaborations, and not just for the amazing name.
Wednesday, July 8 will see celebrated chef Zac Sykes enter the One Fish Two Fish kitchen for a stunning four-course meal heroing Rocky Point cobia. Book your table here, and prepare to enjoy dishes like radish-cured cobia with avocado and pomelo, and seven-day dry-aged cobia with white beans, bacon and Tuscan cabbage.
Oh hi again, One Fish Two Fish.
We’ll be seeing a lot of this Kangaroo Point beauty this month when they launch their Toast to the Queensland Coast tasting menu on Friday, July 10. The five-course menu will be a celebration of the Sunshine State and all the delicious seafood along its coast, available for lunch Fridays-Sundays. We’re drooling at the thought of Moreton Bay bug toast and Fraser Isle spanner crab-stuffed zucchini flowers. Book your spot here.
Adding colour to our winter, MAYA (a spicy new pop-up taking over Eleven Rooftop Bar) will transport Brisbanites to the balmy nights of Mexico, with authentic flavours (think coastal-Pacific, Yucatan and Sonoran influences) and a cocktail list as long as a dictionary. MAYA is set to open its doors on July 11, with bookings being taken from July 1. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to save your spot!
Hot girl winter can wait.
