January Bucket List
When it’s December 31st and someone says see you next year *entire room rolls eyes two times over*
While they were busy pulling jokes out of the oldest, driest book in human history, we got bizzayy working up a bucket list full of bottomless rosé brunch, Aperol spritz-fuelled ping pong tournaments, and enough vegan pizza and pasta to rebuild your crushed soul.
Let loose this January with Brisbane’s ultimate bucket list. We’re not kidding.

On January 24, a mere pop of $20 will land you the deal of a lifetime, along with any drink purchase on the night. Salt Meats Cheese will be bringing a LOT to the table, with all the plant-based Italian eats you can physically handle. We’re talking pizza, pasta and lasagne, and we’re suggesting wearing clothes with room with move. All-you-can-eat is devilishly sweet.
An Onassis breakfast and Greek coffee | Hellenika | Fortitude Valley
The Calile’s signature restaurant, Hellenika, is making breakfast Instagrammable again, with a gorgeous Grecian take on the most important meal of the day. Start 2019 right with the Onassis – streaky bacon, loukanika, olive oil fried eggs, fresh tomato, lamb cutlet and toast, with a very powerful sidekick known as Greek coffee. You’ll probably have to stay for poolside drinks, because you’ll never want to leave.
Malolo’s poké is no joké, making it a must-try this January. Choose from one of the existing menu options or build your own bowl with fresh, seasonal ingredients ready to enjoy in a fresh-faced CBD store.
Os Open | Osbourne Hotel | Fortitude Valley
Ping some serious pong in a ridiculously fun tournament on January 13! Osbourne Hotel will be setting up a day full of ping pong, Aperol spritz, Stone & Wood jugs, $10 pizza, DJs, and plenty of prizes for you bloody champions. Find out more and register here.
Gold Coast Food and Wine Expo | Broadbeach
Expose your love of good food and wine at the GC from January 11-13! With more gourmet food, wine and celebrity chefs than you can poke a stick at, the GC Food and Wine Expo will be offering samples, degustations, classes and tastings set to test your capability to handle the heat in a very large kitchen. Triple J Hottest 100 Backyard party | Ric’s | Fortitude Valley
Ready for the hottest music event of the year? On January 27, Ric’s will be rolling out the Hottest 100 countdown live in-venue, with a classic Aussie BBQ to match. Grab a snag, listen to 2018’s best bangers, and party well into the public holiday with some talented Triple J Unearthed bands after the 100 wraps up! She’s free, so get around her.
See you next month…
