How to Celebrate the Weekend Eve

Let’s face it, the weekend starts around 3pm on a Friday.

You might look like you’re working, but we all know you’ve been scrolling through memes on Facebook for the last two hours. That lunch time beer is starting to wear off and you’re watching the clock – it’s almost the weekend, so where are you going to go?

What better way to finish off the working week than with a stein of hand crafted German beer and a plate of Schweinshaxe, Bratwurst and Sauerkraut in front of you? Oktoberfest Brisbane is the ultimate Friday “team building activity” (wink) with your work buds – just don’t eat too much before you get on the rides though: they are FREE on Fridays. Check out what all the fuss is about on the 6th & 13th October. Prost!

The gang at the Triffid know how much you love knock offs, so much so they’ve dedicated Fridays to it. Knock off, Kick On with DJ James Wright from 5pm in the Triffid Garden. Gather your crew and relax with a cold beer and a crispy chicken burger. Friday afternoons have never sounded sweeter.

Brisbane’s latest sensation is arcade/bar/diner/all-round fun place Netherworld. Nerd it up this Friday with 25 arcade games, board games, cold beers and delicious diner-style food. The menu is 100% vegan, with the option of adding dairy or meat, but believe us – even the most dedicated carnivores will be satisfied. Our pick? The Loaded Fries with pulled jackfruit and vegan cheese. Life. Changing. Smash some fries, throw down a beer and charge up to beat the high pinball score!

Need to take out your frustrations? Golf stick it to the man at Holey Moley! There’s nothing quite like smashing a golf ball around to make you forget about that memo your boss left on your desk Friday morning. Swing by and shake it up with a ‘Long Island Iced Tee’ cocktail, it’s a hole lot of fun! Holey moley

Feeling less than foxy after the weekly grind? Celebrate the start of the weekend with live music and charity raffles from 4pm until late at The Fox. Gather the work crew, sink some beers and tuck into a chicken parmy or cauliflower steak with curried pesto, pine nuts and dried cranberry. Want to get rewarded for having fun? Join the Frequent Foxes loyalty program.

Kettle and Tin recognises that Friday’s are for celebrating, and what better way than with champagne cocktails? Bring a friend and enjoy champagne cocktail specials. From 4pm sit back and relax on the sunny deck with share plates including swiss mac & cheese, confit duck sliders and miso pork belly.

Whether you’re a gamer, a champagne enthusiast or a budding mini-golf champion – there’s no excuse to stay home this Friday.
