Honto Brisbane

When we hear the whispers of new restaurants whistling through the city we mentally and physically prepare ourselves for feasting. Whether it’s a new burger place or a speakeasy bar, we want in, and we won’t be left hungry.

And when we discovered that the rumours were sending us to the love child of renowned Thai-fusion restaurant LONgTIME, well, you can imagine our reaction. Pure, unbridled, hedonistic, joy.

Introducing hôntô, an Australian take on classic Japanese cuisine, and your new favourite stomping ground. Offering a variety of menu options for all palates great and small, hôntô is here to scratch that foodie itch you never knew you had.

With a menu designed to be shared, order up big.  Start with ‘raw’ options of fresh sashimi, before moving onto smaller ‘bites’. You’ll be tempted to load up on these tasty morsels, but save some room for ‘Bigs’, big by name and even bigger in flavour. Add some ‘Greens’ on the side to keep mum happy and you’ve got yourself a feast.

A meal without drinks is just breakfast, and hôntô are following in their siblings footsteps with an exceptional wine list, specialised cocktails and a handpicked selection of Japanese whiskeys and sakes to match perfectly with each meal – big, small, raw or green.

Early bookings are available but come 6:30pm and it’s first in, best dressed so grab your loved one or some mates and head on down to hôntô for a combination of flavours you’re guaranteed to have never experienced.
