The G&G guide to The Curated Plate
Ready to step up to The (Curated) Plate?
You read it here first, Brisbane!
Citi’s 2019 Good Food & Wine Show is set to do the absolute most when they return to Brisbane on October 25-27, with over 200 exhibitors and 500 wine varieties ready to pop in celebration of the weekend-long festival.
Alongside samples and sips, rumour has it that the GFWS will also be giving guests a taste of luxury with their endless program of gastronomic lunches, exclusive masterclasses, and live cooking demonstrations hosted by the biggest names in Australia’s hospitality industry!
First rolling out the welcome mat will be Team Matt–top celebrity chefs Matt Moran, Matt Golinski, and Matt Sinclair in a collaborative live cooking demonstration inspired by the ‘Greatest Showman.’ Watch them flaunt their magical cooking skills alongside Spanish chef Miguel Maestre as they flip (literally) humble Australian ingredients into show-stopping gourmet creations over the whole three days!
If the cooking demos featuring the Matts and Miguel doesn’t have you going ‘Mmmm,’ perhaps a long lunch featuring a custom Maggie Beer dessert will! An amazing collaboration between Maggie Beer, Matt Moran, and Margaret River wines, The Chef Lunch boasts three deluxe courses paired with exquisite Australian wines, as well as the unique chance to sit down with the chefs themselves for an intimate Q&A session.
If all this talk of eating has you thirsty, look no further than GFWS’ pun-worthy (and therefore G&G approved!) array of wine tastings and masterclasses!
With everything from Let’s Get Fizzical to Stop and Smell the Rosé, as well as Wine Selectors Cellar Door’s Bubblicious Brunch and Shiraz Sizzle up for grabs, it’s safe to say the red and white will be flowing all weekend long.
To help you avoid drinking on an empty stomach, GFWS is returning to Brisbane this 2019 with some great new gourmand faces. New kids on the cooking block include the insanely popular Truffle Melbourne truffle truck, Melbourne Gin Co, and Marionette Liqueurs, not to mention new foodie masterclasses hosted by Thermomix, featuring cuisines that span from India to Peru.
While we’re collectively picking up our jaws from the ground, why not pick up some tickets as well? You can find them online at the Good Food & Wine Show website.
