Go Clucky Over Our Guide to Brisbane's Best Chicken
I’m not sure if our lovely readers have noticed, but the writers at G&G have been just a little over-obsessed with chicken this year.
Fried chicken, baked chicken, butter chicken, smoked chicken, chickens that have crossed the road… we just want chicken that tastes like real chicken!
Well, while chickens may lay eggs, we’ve decided to lay down the law and compile this reverent list of all the best chicken dishes Brisbane has on offer! Consider this your ‘Chicken Bible,’ as we take you through all the latest chicken restaurants, and some of your old favourites as well!
Hello Chicken ǀ Bowen Hills
If you’re super henthusiatic about your fried chicken, be sure to add Hello Chicken to your bucket list! And while you’re there, don’t hesitate to gorge on their wide range of combos (our favourite is the Snow Cheese Chicken!).
Victoria Park Bistro ǀ Herston
For those who relish chicken that’s a little bit fancy, look no further than Victoria Park Bistro’s Rotisserie Chicken. The succulent flavors in their tender slow-cooked roast sure are classy, but also nostalgic, taking right back to your granny’s kitchen (if granny had super stylish decor and sprawling city views, that is).
Empire Chicken ǀ Fortitude Valley
As its name suggests, this little nook within the Empire Hotel is all. about. dat. chicken. At this kingdom come, appetites will be outdone, as their chicken rotisseries, burgers, and salads take you straight to heaven!
Chop Chop Changs ǀ West End
For Japanese style fried chicken head over to Chop Chop Changs and send your taste buds into a delightful tailspin! Their karaage chicken and chicken & cashew curry can’t be beat.
Momo Chicken & Beer ǀ Runcorn
In case you didn’t know, there are a lot (and I mean A LOT) of Korean fried chicken restaurants to love around Brisbane! Not to be outshined though is Momo’s, whose boneless chicken dish is so crispy, you’ll be spitting fire in no time! Lucky for you, this midnight joint also offers craft beers to help cool your taste buds after.
KaiKai ǀ St. Lucia
Korea is known for its kim chi, kpop, and now Kaikai! Commonly filled with UQ students after a hard day’s study, this local favourite dishes out not only Peri Peri Chicken Pizzas and Honey Soy Fried chicken… but does it buffet style! So, for an unlimited amount of chicken (our wildest dreams!) for only $24.90, head down to KaiKai.
Paddington Curry House ǀ Paddington
There’s no better way to butter up to your new crush or old-school parents than with Paddington Curry House’s Butter Chicken. Mixing up this classic dinner by infusing it with unique Nepalese flavours, this dish is sure to make you shake your tail feathers.
The Smoke BBQ ǀ New Farm
This all-American grill house celebrates everything smoky by serving up some of the most tenderized and mouth-watering meats known to man. However, they also know that there ain’t no-thing like a chicken wing, which is why their buffalo wings are one of their most popular dishes. And let’s not forget their tantalizing Half Hickory Smoked Chicken, char-grilled with Memphis sauce.
What a time to be alive (and chicken!)
