Sometimes we feel like Melbourne has been greedy when it comes to laneways. Absolutely riddled with them, we’ve often found ourselves looking wistfully at old snaps, sick with holiday envy – when will Brisbane have its turn?

Wonder no more friends, West Village have heard our pleas and have responded with West End’s latest cultural sensation – Laneway WV. Between May and October, a series of themed pop-ups will brighten the up and coming precinct with a series of workshops, events and installations that will celebrate the best of Brisbane’s vibrant culture with food, wine, music and fashion.

The first event of the year is going have you breaking out the Serge Gainseberg and brushing up on your verb conjugations. It’s time to wander off Boundary Street and take a stroll down the cobblestone laneway of West Village – Bienvenue to Fromage Laneway!

Kicking off at 3pm on May 27th, be transported away from the chaos of eclectic West End and into the peaceful garden surrounds and heritage buildings of West Village.

For just $35pp graze on delicious cheeses from local providore The Stores, a glass of bubbles on arrival and music from French jazz trio. You will also have the chance to embrace your inner somm and sample wines.

Forgo the usual plans, round up your girl gang, grab your tickets and head down to West Village for a Sunday session with a difference.
