Frankee & Co brings healthful feeds to Springwood

Once upon a time, a venture over to the south side meant slim pickings for dining options, but one Springwood cafe is the answer to your weekend (and weekday!) plans for a daytime feed, whether you want to sit down for a leisurely breakfast, pop in for lunch or just grab a bite to eat on the road. Long time Springwood locals and owners of Frankee & Co noticed the absence of foodie spots in their beloved suburb and got tired of waiting for someone else to do something about it, deciding to take charge an open their own wholefoods café, and boy are we glad they did! frankee-and-co-springwood-cafe-2 Serving up delicious feeds for breakfast and lunch, seven days a week, this south side haven places an emphasis on using fresh, local products. Sourcing all their produce from the Rochedale Markets, their grass-fed, organic meat from a local butcher, breads from Sol Breads, raw treats from Raw and Peace and juices from HRVST ST, the cosy eatery is all about Brisbane fare. All relishes, pesto and hummus on the menu are made fresh by the kitchen team, with an emphasis on refined sugar-free, paleo, vegetarian and vegan options for almost of all of their dishes. The lists of milks available to pair with your Bear Bones Espresso reads more like a novel than a drinks menu, and makes for the perfect place to bring that pal with all those dietary requirements that normally has to stick to water when dining out. frankee-and-co-springwood-cafe-3 The seasonal menu is ever changing, and with an impressive line up of specials, the amount of delicious choices is almost overwhelming. The new spring menu features gluten free pancakes, their always popular breakfast stack piled with roasted mushrooms, sweet potato rosti, poached eggs and bacon, a breakfast bowl loaded with green goodness, and the ultimate crowd pleaser – a ploughman’s board, along with a whole bunch of other favourites. Feeling the heat? Grab one of their healthful smoothies or acai bowls to cool down – or better yet, pair them with a salad from the cabinet of to-go feeds. If you have time to sit and relax, you can enjoy a moment in the comfy leather couch, or out on the breezy patio, while you take in the eye-catching mural done by a young local artist. Either way, jump in the car and follow the Pacific Motorway straight to Frankee & Co, at 63 Springwood Road, open 7 days a week for breakfast and lunch. Words by Georgia Tyler
