2020 food festivals to add to your calendar

Whip those Google calendars out now – we’ve curated the best food festivals around Brisbane that just cannot be missed. Keeping to our New Year’s resolution of being more organised, we’re getting in early, so there’s no excuse to miss out!

Mould | March 20-21

Get those Lactaid pills at the ready to experience the greatness that is Mould, a three-day extravaganza dedicated to cheese, glorious cheese! Whether you like to brie, Roquefort or camembert (just to name a few), the best artisan cheesemakers in Australia will gather to satisfy the taste buds of all cheese enthusiasts. With a full food program, served alongside a wide range of vino, whiskey, beer and cider to wash all that dairy down, this is almost too gouda to be true. Noosa Eat & Drink | May 14-17

Rubbing shoulders with the nation’s top chefs in the stunning surrounds of Noosa? Sounds like our idea of a good time! Rebranded this year from Noosa Food and Wine, Eat & Drink is set to bring tasting events, trails, and workshops to Noosa and surrounds, with the festival village hosting cooking and chef demonstrations, DJs and live music, and a glass of prosecco on arrival. There’s even a VIP option – grab your ticket here before they inevitably sell out!

Indie Spirits Tasting | May 31

This one will set those spirits high! Located in a brand new location for 2020, Indie Spirits Tasting at the Triffid will be pouring the best booze in the country, satisfying all of Brisbane’s gin, rum, whiskey, vodka and tequila lovers. Tickets include samples, snacks and seminars, so you can dive deep into the world of independent spirits. Don’t miss out, grab your tickets here now! 

Rosé Revolution | Date TBC

You will be seeing La Vie en Rosé at this year’s Rosé Revolution. For a whole day, you’ll be sipping pretty on pink elixirs and dedicating your drinking to a good cause, with all proceeds going to charity. Bottomless wine, live entertainment, charity raffles and great company, need we say more? Keep curious, details will be released soon. 

The Curated Plate | August 6-9

After its roaring success in 2019, The Curated Plate festival is making its return to the Sunny Coast. A culinary celebration bringing together the region’s highest quality produce with the finest chefs in the Australian and international scene, this is a foodie’s dream come true. Spanning over four days, keep your eyes out on their website for the ticket release. 

Fish Lane Festival | Date TBC 

Brisbane’s iconic laneway will transform into the street party of the year, bringing all festival-goers together to experience the most delicious that Fish Lane has to offer. Let the bright coloured murals guide your way through South Brisbane’s most flavoursome bites, served with a side of culture and art. The date is still to be announced, but we promise this one will not disappoint. 

Moreton Bay Food & Wine Festival | September 12-13

Good things come to those who wait…Giving you one more reason to spend your weekend by the water, the Moreton Bay Food & Wine Festival will keep your palate entertained in September. Chefs, winemakers, brewers and restaurateurs alike will assemble to create top-notch food and bevs, with some great entertainment along the Redcliffe Parade. With free entry into the precinct, stay tuned for more information as it comes through later this year! 

Good Food and Wine Show | October 23-25

Calling all foodies of Brisbane: prepare to get your fangirl on. Good Food and Wine Show is returning in 2020, turning the Convention and Exhibition Centre into a food and wine wonderland, with celebrity chef sightings very much on the menu. In a nutshell, this is the Coachella of food and wine (so yes…it’s a big deal) making, sampling, and purchasing! Tickets are set to go on sale soon, so keep your eye out on their website for more information. 


Say goodbye to Splendour, these are so much more exciting, and also require less standing and more eating. It’s a big yes from us!
