Surfers Paradise Beer Garden’s foodie revamp
What do beach bums and GC food-lovers have in common? The all new Surfers Paradise Beer Garden, of course.
The USA meets the GC at this brand new American-style diner.
Fans of American fare, it’s time to hop on the highway and head down to the Gold Coast. Fat Freddy’s Beach Bar and Diner has opened in Broadbeach, ready to make your foodie dreams come true. Being the first eatery to open under the new 5-star Avani Tower, we suspect Broadbeach is primed and ready to become the Gold Coast’s new dining paradise.
Fat Freddy’s is up and running, ready to dish up authentic American eats with a twist. The sleek, edgy venue is all about the reinvention of American classics, suited to an Aussie palate while paying homage to the flavours (and deep-fried goodness) that we know and love.
Slide into a luxe leather booth, open your menu and let the fun begin. There’s no doubt the house made kettle chips with burnt bbq salt and garlic aioli will catch your eye, and you won’t want to miss the four-cheese mac and cheese croquettes with truffle mayo.
The deliciousness doesn’t end when it’s time for mains… We’re talking New York-style dogs, brisket burgers, loaded tater tots and many more goodies. Showing off their Queensland spirit, Fat Freddy’s street eats also include a poached Moreton Bay Bug po’boy–something we seeing being an instant classic. We’ll take ten, please.
Boasting an impressive alfresco area and a huge sports bar with nine screens broadcasting sport from around the globe, Fat Freddy’s will keep the party going until at least 11pm every night of the week.
Speaking of parties, the extensive drinks list on offer will quench your thirst, whether you’re sipping on an imported US beer or a diner-style cocktail. From spiked sodas to boozy shakes, Fat Freddy’s is mixing, shaking and pouring liquid goodness. The Shooter McGavin is a must-try, with buffalo trace bourbon added to a malted vanilla thick shake and topped with smoked maple and waffle.
A spot set to be popular among locals and tourists alike, Fat Freddy’s Beach Bar and Diner’s drinks, grub and good vibes are soon to be the talk of Broadbeach.
Put away your passport–there’s no need to head to the US when there’s authentic, finger-lickin’ good ‘murican food waiting for you in the heart of the GC.
