Brisbane Racing Carnival 2019 | Gourmand & Gourmet

Eat your way through the Brisbane Racing Carnival

It may be racing season, but lord knows the only running we’re doing is to Eagle Farm’s nearest bar.

Flock around, foodies – from what the little birdies at Channel Seven’s Brisbane Racing Carnival have told us, the trackside and surrounds at Eagle Farm will be decked out with endless pop-up bars, live entertainment, delectable food stations, and plenty of champagne to share (11,000 bottles, to be exact)!

Whether you’re heading to the May 25 Kirin Stakes Day or June 8 TAB Stradbroke Day this carnival season, rest assured there’ll be plenty of delicious spots at which to store (i.e. stuff your face) food for the winter.

Strawberry Fields | Free with general entry

There’s nothing as sweet as the strawberry kisses, especially in the form of the fruity cocktails available to enjoy in the Strawberry Fields pop-up precinct!

Prepare to be showered with gorgeous strawberry décor (perfect for your next Insta post) that leads you to the main event – Gordon’s stunning Pink Gin bar, serving up delicious cocktails, regional foodie delights, and everything in between.

No need to hop onto the Webster to book a date with this Elle Woods wonderland either – entry to this super sweet precinct is available to all racegoers on both the Kirin Stakes and TAB Stradbroke racedays, with general admission tickets for the races just $25pp and $45pp respectively.

Trackside Marina | from $250

The horses and hats aren’t the only sights to sea at this year’s Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival!

We suggest making tracks to the Trackside Marina – the new, luxurious way to experience the best of both of worlds on both Kirin Stakes Day and TAB Stradbroke Day. A golden ticket to this bad boy will saddle you with free-flowing French champagne from mid-morning until sunset, endless cocktail-style grazing options, and an aesthetic AF 84-foot Riviera sports yacht to fulfil all your bougie Insta needs!

A simple walk down the Trackside Marina will also reveal a number of irresistible food stalls, boasting charcuterie, teppanyaki, desserts, cheese, a fish ‘n’ chippery, as well as a gorgeous Taste of Tasmania station!

Giddy up – just like the horses, tickets to this foodie playground are going fast.

The Kirin Birdcage | $785

Go for broke with your favourite Australian Idol winner and Eurovision should-have-won performer, Guy Sebastian, this TAB Stradbroke Day in the exclusive Kirin Birdcage!

Not that we’re much of the betting type, but in sporting all things rich and famous, the Kirin Birdcage’s dedicated winter menu simply can’t be beat. Guests can expect to be lavished with decadent bites created by the culinary geniuses (and local legends) from Black Hide Steakhouse by Gambaro, alongside five hours of bottomless French champagne, Australian wines, and Kirin beers.

The Kirin Birdcage collaboration with Black Hide is only available on the Stradbroke Day and tickets are limited, so be sure to book in quick!

What are you waiting for Brisbane? Race on in!

Keeping the G&G up to date with all the latest tasty tidbits requires a lot of double lattes and espresso martinis, so we occasionally need to give out some sponsored love. But rest assured that we only work with businesses that we think are really nifty, as the sponsor for this post is!
