December Bucket List

We know, we know – we can’t believe it’s December either. This year has flown by at lightning speed, but there’s still a full month left to get up to no good.

We’ve made our list (and checked it twice) of what we recommend you spend your last moments of 2017 doing… and by that we mean eating.

  1. Pinknic | The Osbourne Hotel | 3rd December

Rosé seems to be the wine hero of the year, and we’re only happy to continue celebrating. Nothing says summer lovin’ like a glass of our favourite pink elixir and The Osbourne Hotel agrees. To celebrate they’re transforming their lush beer garden into a rosé garden, and throwing the summer soiree of the year – Pinknic. Kicking off December 3rd enjoy local and imported rosés and gourmet picnic baskets. Book your tickets here!

  1. Greenglass Wine Dinner | 2nd December

One year ago, we welcomed Greenglass Wine Bar to the city – and it’s fast become our favourite hidden CBD wine bar. To celebrate one year of wine swilling good times they’re putting together an anniversary dinner with a four-course menu, perfectly accompanied by their selection of Australian wines. Tickets are strictly limited so book in now to avoid fomo.

  1. New Year’s Eve

What is it about New Year’s Eve that gets us so excited? We know that nothing is going to magically happen between 11.59pm-12am but every year we find ourselves tearing our hair our trying to figure out how to celebrate without falling victim to FOMO. We’ve rounded up some of the biggest bashes and yummiest feasts that’ll have you out partying quicker than you can say ‘new year, new me!’

  1. Christmas Markets

Following the success of the World Food Markets, our favourite crew is back again to bring us a series of mouth-watering Christmas markets popping up in Newstead, Corinda and Red Hill. Gather your friends, family and fur babies and get into the Christmas spirit with these neighbourhood twilight markets, bringing a little slice of Europe to Brisbane. With an eclectic mix of over 20 food and drink stalls including providore and artisanal handmade goods and gifts, decorations and Christmas cakes – the World Food Markets are this Christmas’ one stop (ethical) shop.

  1. Queensland Coast Degustation | Bacchus | South Bank

To celebrate their fifth birthday, Bacchus presents the Queensland Coastline Degustation! The seven-course degustation is a carefully curated culinary exploration, highlighting some of the most famous flavours and places in Queensland – and it’s only available until the end of the year.

  1. Montrachet Boulangerie | Bowen Hills

Long time French favourite Montrachet has officially made the move to King Street – and it’s opening a boulangerie next door! With authentic French treats made from flour imported from Lyon, the boulangerie will be offering an incredible selection of artisan pastries, fresh loaves of bread and takeaway baguettes. Ooh la la!

  1. Gin-gle Bells | Covent Garden | West End

Feel like you really need to ramp up the class towards the end of the year? Hanging out for a last minute catch up with the gals? Get high and mighty at Covent Garden with Gin-gle Belles – the gin high-tea we’ve been waiting for! Sip away the afternoon with cocktails and a tower of sweet and savoury treats.

  1. 52 Weeks Dining

  1. Brunch | Chop Chop Changs | West End

The heart of South East Asian in West End, Chop Chop Changs has long been one of our favourites for lunch and dinner but now we’re rolling our hungover selves in for brunch on weekends! From bao benedict to spiced apple dumplings – soothe your handover or just charge up for the day on their pan Asian fusion food available 9am-12pm on weekends.

  1. Cocktail Degustation | Sazerac | CBD

Breakfast, lunch and dinner – even ice-cream – it seems like we’re had every kind of degustation this year. But a cocktail degustation? Head 30 levels above street level to Sazerac Rooftop Bar and Lounge to take in the spectacular view – and some hand-crafted cocktails! Start off light with a refreshing spritz, then sip your way into something a little fruiter. Finish off your evening with a classic nightcap and an uber ride.

From gourmand to gourmet – no matter your taste, December has something has something for everyone.
