December Bucket List | The Gourmand & Gourmet

December Bucket List

Oh hi mark(ing off my 2018 calendar for the last time).

It’s nearly a wrap, people, so make this last month count by squeezing in a seasonally special G&G bucket list crawl in between all that silly stress. We have a feeling that breakfast gnocchi will make things all better (at least until you realise that you’ve forgotten to do your Christmas shopping)…

The Society Summer Series | Brisbane Racing Club | Ascot

Pop over to your fave annual summer rooftop sesh every Saturday in December! The Society is in fact back with their Summer Series, and plenty of unicorn spritzes to (Instagram) feed your need for pretty delicious cocktails. You’ll find us parked at the charcuterie station and shouting out requests to the DJ (he’s not annoyed at all). Head here for more info.

PinkNic | Osbourne Hotel | Fortitude Valley

Rosé is the new black, and we’ll drink to that. Chime in to Osbourne Hotel on December 9 for the peachy picnic you didn’t think would ever be possible as a kid. A boozy picnic basket with premium rosé and enough cheese and salmon to start your own deli awaits here, ready to indulge in at a grown up garden party.

Breakfast gnocchi & Bloody Marys | Salt Meats Cheese | Gasworks

Move over hash browns, there’s a new potato-based breakfast staple in town. Salt Meats Cheese have levelled with the food gods to create a holy selection of breakfast gnocchi and Bloody Marys. With flavour combos featuring the likes of salmon, vegan delights and Nutella, choosing just one will actually be near impossible. You might need guidance from a trusty Pecorino Mary to help you decide. Bottoms up!

Grassfed | South Brisbane

Plant-based burgers, what a time to be alive. Set to open early December, Grassfed will be Brisbane’s only dedicated vegan burger bar, offering much more than a soggy half-cooked mushroom thrown between some buns. Show your carnivore mates what’s good with sky-high, stacked bad boys, that are 100% cruelty-free, and ridiculously tasty. #whatveganseat

Burleigh Pavilion | Burleigh

Sex on the beach isn’t a drink, it’s what Burleigh Pavilion looks like. This stunning new Gold Coast social hub will open on Burleigh beach this December, bringing large open kitchens, two eating areas and a bar to eager locals and its equally keen guests. You’ll be sipping on a mojito with your brojitos while cooking up a nice GC tan, how else would you want to spend your summer?

Howard Smith Wharves | CBD

Our own slice of riverside luxury is found right here in Brisbane, with Howard Smith Wharves having finally opened to a city of thirsty guys and gals! Make your way down there to enjoy Felons Brewing Co., Mr Percival’s and Greca while you bask in the glory of sweeping city views. There’s no place like home.

Doughnut Time | Various Locations

They’re here, they’re under new management, get used to it. Doughnut Time has officially opened in Brisbane CBD and South Bank, bringing back old faithfuls including Slim Shady, Veruca Salt and Love at First Bite, with a hole new batch of bad bois in the works. Winning note: they taste even better than they used to!
