Coming soon to James St…

On the way is a cosy cafe, a new chef taking the reins at CRU, and a few familiar faces reopening!

James Street is one of Brisbane’s most elegant spots for wining and dining, and now there are some even yummier things on the horizon!

The team behind Newstead’s Salt Coffee Roasters, have picked James St as the location of their brand-spanking-new joint, and we couldn’t be more excited! Little Salt is set to open in late July as a more compact version of Salt, slanted towards takeaway specialty coffee but also rocking a cute alfresco area and a concise menu of eats. Stay tuned for more on Little Salt! 

There’s been some exciting news at CRU Bar + Cellar this week… When it reopens on Monday, June 29, there will be a new face running the kitchen! Richard Ousby, formerly of Quay, London’s Michelin-starred Waterside Inn, and the Stokehouse Group has taken over as CRU’s head chef, producing delicious food with an emphasis on fresh, modern Australian flavours. Richard will also be manning the kitchen of At Sixes and Sevens, so you can expect top notch fare alongside your cocktail jug!  

We’re counting down the days to Wednesday, July 1, when The Calile Hotel reopens its doors! Hellenika and SK Steak and Oyster are set to take guests for the first time since March, offering their signature flavours (and dranks) that have made them so popular with the Valley crowd. Whether you’re munching on saganaki by the pool at Hellenika or hoeing into a prime rib and a generous glass of shiraz at SK, a celebratory food baby is certainly in order.
