Long before sky-high, open-air establishments started popping up on top of buildings all over town, there was one rooftop venue that ruled supreme for drinks with a view. That place, of course, is Friday’s, the riverside restaurant, bar and club that has kept revelers happy for nearly thirty years. What other rooftop bar in Brisbane has enough space for 500 friends (no crammed in tables here!), a fairy lit tree, heaters to ward off the winter chill and a stunning backdrop of the Story Bridge? A Brisbane institution in the iconic Riverside Centre, Friday’s is still the king of adult playgrounds, and dishes up good times and great food like nowhere else. But the really good news is that Friday’s isn’t just the ultimate good-time venue on its namesake day. With a never-ending drinks list and a menu that will make your mouth water, it’s the place to party the days and nights away all week long! Don’t believe us? Here’s a rundown of all the things on offer… Whether it’s been a manic Monday or a lazy Sunday, the world is your oyster at Friday’s – or your meal can be, at least! Start your night in style with half a dozen freshly shucked Sydney rock oysters for $6 between 5-7pm every day. At the Waterline Restaurant, you’ll find a la carte dining with waterfront views and full table service seven days a week. Whether it’s for a business lunch or a group dinner before weekend drinks (at the Glamour Bar, hint hint), you’ll find a menu full of light meals and superb steaks to meet any appetite. Every Wednesday from 5pm, shake your tail feathers and get your groove on with 70s style cocktails to go with classic disco tunes. The Golden Cadillac will have you glowing with its heady mix of Licor 43, crème de cacao and cream, while the Black Russian (a killer mix of Kahlua and vodka with coke) will have you partying like it’s 1979. But forget the fun and games for a moment: Not all of us have made it to a flash city job yet. If you’re still collapsing under the weight of textbooks and pouring drinks on weekends when you’d rather be knocking them back, commiserate with fellow students at the University of Good Times nights on Thursdays. On top of all of that, Friday’s is always fired up and pumping with drinks and tunes on Friday and Saturday night and then you can back it up with live music and Aperol Spritzes in the beergarden on Sundays.
