Brisbane’s newest suburban bar: The Bent Elbow

  • Food & Booze
The only natural progression after a bent elbow is obviously a fist pump, and that’s exactly what you’ll be doing after you discover the new hidden gem in the heart of Stones Corner. Yep, the ‘burbs are back in force, and they’ve brought us another cool haunt to try out on the regular, with breakfasts, share plates, pizzas and pastas to tuck into and twelve rotating beer taps filled with local craft beer for you swig on. We introduce you to The Bent Elbow. With a swanky-doo looking bistro-style interior, complete with an indoor, astro-turfed beer garden, you’ll forget you’re spending an afternoon so close to home while guzzling down some fave local brews like Green Beacon, Newstead Brewing Co. and The Hills Cider Company. Spend your afternoons (yes, plural, can you tell we spend most afternoons with a beverage in each hand?), in a unique indoor retreat, chowing down on small pleasures like coconut infused scallop ceviche on tortilla, or fried, spiced chicken nibbles. Don’t neglect to decorate one hand with a local glass of their boutique wine (because their selection is as fancy as your tastes are). The Bent Elbow is open Wednesday to Sunday until late, so instead of arguing over who will be designated Dave this week, and setting out for the long haul into the city, set your little red pin down on The Bent Elbow and let them tickle your funny bone. You won’t regret sticking to the south side. You’ll find The Bent Elbow at 16 Old Cleveland Road, Greenslopes, open Wednesday to Friday from 11am until late and Saturday and Sunday from 8am until late. Words by Lucille Burkitt
