Brisbane’s most exclusive degustation dining experience
22 Mar 2016
Ever wanted to be a part of the creative process that goes into putting together a new menu at a fine dining restaurant? Tasting and sampling your way through new dishes, discussing innovative flavours and having a say in what ends up on the final menu? Well at Thomson’s Reserve, you can, with their fortnightly Test Kitchens giving you the chance to see what goes on behind the scenes. An upscale wining and dining spot kept hush hush by those in the know, Thomson’s Reserve is tucked away inside the elegant New Inchcolm Hotel & Suites, dishing up progressive Australian cuisine from Head Chef Michael Crosby. All about local, seasonal produce, their a la carte menus offer classic dishes with difference, making use of some unique ingredients. Every second Monday, you can head in for an intimate degustation dinner with a creative twist at their Test Kitchen, featuring 5 courses of innovative cuisine created by the talented chefs just for the evening. As if the chance to sample dishes before anyone else (5 of them, no less) wasn’t enticing enough, you’ll be talked through each and every course, learning about each ingredient and the idea behind every dish. You can even get them matched with incredible wines, with every course matched to the perfect drop. With a focus on Australian produce, you’re bound to find some very unique ingredients on the plate in front of you at these dinners. With fresh fruit and vegetables from Brisbane based Simon, George & Sons, and top cuts of meat from Prime Cut Meats, nothing but the best will end up on your fork. Using native ingredients, innovative techniques and even home grown herbs, there’s no predicting what you’ll see on these menus, which change fortnight to fortnight. Of course, if you just can’t fit an exclusive, one-of-a-kind-dinner into your schedule, Thomson’s Reserve is the ultimate place for business lunches when heading to your local café just won’t cut it. But if you’d like to find out more about their Test Kitchens and book, give them a call on (07) 3226 8888. Seats are $85pp, and with only 10 places at each dinner, you’ll want to book in early! Keeping the G&G up to date with all the latest tasty tidbits requires a lot of double lattes and espresso martinis, so we occasionally need to give out some sponsored love. But rest assured that we only work with businesses that we think are really nifty, as the sponsor for this post is!
