Brisbane’s first Lindt Chocolate Shop

  • Food & Booze
Did you know that it’s thanks to Lindt that we have the smooth, creamy chocolate we have today? Yep, that dreamy, melt-in-your-mouth was first created by the founder of Lindt Chocolate, way back in 1845 – and sweet tooths been indebted ever since. After 170 years of creating fine chocolate, these Swiss chocolatiers really know what they’re doing, with a secret recipe perfected over decades. Using only the finest carefully selected cocoa beans and masterful processes for roasting, conching and tempering, they create indulgent chocolate that for Brisbanites, has always been so worth a trip to Sydney or Melbourne to find a store dedicated to all their delicious flavours. Well, now you only have to go as far as the airport, without actually getting on a plane, to get your fill (and then some) of Lindt’s deliciously creamy chocolate balls, bars and pralines. The new Lindt store at DFO is all our chocolate dreams come true – wall-to-wall shelves filled with every flavour imaginable of the sweet addictive treat. There’s Lindor ball flavours you didn’t even know existed (the largest range available in Australia!), including champagne, caramel brownie, cookies and cream, sea salt and Irish Crème – all of which you can pick and mix into your own personal box of favourites. Then, there’s an entire wall dedicated to their silky blocks, from the Lindt Excellence series to the cheeky Hello range (Helloooo strawberry cheesecake). Seriously, it’s a confectionary aisle on steroids. If you just want to browse, and maybe grab a pick-me-up to steel yourself for a day of shopping at DFO, there’s also a chocolate bar conjuring up Lindt’s infamous mochas and hot chocolates, with iced chocolate drinks and Excellence milkshakes for the warmer months. We’re pretty sure you’ll be able to shop ‘til you drop after one of those! But with Christmas coming up way too fast, we think this might just be the spot to grab gifts for those hard-to-buy-for people. After you’ve sampled every flavour and picked out the best ones (read: ALL OF THEM) to wrap up and put under the tree of course. You’ll find the new Lindt Chocolate Shop at DFO Brisbane Airport, 1 Airport Drive, Eagle Farm. They’re open 7 days a week. Words by Ranyhyn Akui
