Brisbane's favourite burgers come to West End

Love Ben’s Burgers?  If your ultimate Friday lunch is a classic burger with that juicy meat patty and thick cut pickles, you’ll be pleased to know that there’s now another spot where you can get your fix. Just opened in West End, The Bleachers is like the worldlier, older brother of Ben’s. With a little help from Ben Devlin (ex-Esquire chef and creator of Beerkary Bakery), the team behind the Valley burger spot have taken the best bits of Ben’s (the burgers, duh) and put them into a school yard inspired eatery and bar, complete with actual bleachers and a basketball hoop in the beer garden behind the venue. the bleachers brisbane burgers 2It’s not just those finger licking good burgers on the menu though, with a few new creations and some plates for getting hands on with added to the line up. A fried chicken burger and Asian inspired glazed beef burger with tonkotsu and cabbage has made the list, along with an eggplant burger for the vegos out there. If you’re already well acquainted with Ben’s Burgers, you can try something new, with saucy beef short ribs, chicken ribs and spicy chilli corn all on the menu. Don’t go soft and skip dessert, however, because brownies and choc chip cookies here have the option of a soft serve ice cream topping. Or you can just get a cone, and the boys promise they have some interesting creations on the way. Pair it all with sodas, ice teas, shakes, beer, wine or spirits depending on what mood you’re in and you’ve got the ultimate work day lunch or Saturday night feed. You’ll find The Bleachers at 153 Boundary Street, West End, open Wednesday to Monday for lunch and dinner. Words by Ranyhyn Akui Image (top) by Joshua Maguire
