Brisbane's Most Unique Breakfast Dishes
It’s no secret that every foodie has a café or restaurant that they like to think as their own - a heaven on...
BREAKFAST. DEGUSTATION. Two little words sure to set tongues wagging in Brisbane’s foodie scene.
85 Miskin St in Toowong is the champion of this incredible concept, and G&G was more than eager to give their new menu a taste test. Because why have a regular brekkie when you can try one of everything?!
Four courses of breakfast brilliance will set you back $40, with the added option of matched drinks for $55. With a mixture of savoury and sweet dishes, it’s almost impossible to have a bad day after a morning of fabulous feasting!
The breakfast bonanza starts with vanilla yogurt mousse, cinnamon toasted oats, rhubarb and passionfruit, which will put your usual morning muesli to shame.
Next comes the house smoked salmon with perfectly poached egg and charred zucchini on rye – definitely not your standard eggs benny!
The third course is Jamon ham and creamy mushrooms on truffle butter toast, a tribute to bacon and mushies on toast no doubt, but one with significantly more class and a flavour hit that’ll make you reconsider your usual brekkie ritual.
And because every meal should end with dessert, the final course is a banana pudding with maple cardamom butter, vanilla ice cream and banana caramel. Clearly the stylish, sassy cousin of your run-of-the-mill banana bread, this light but sticky and spicy treat is the perfect way to end your degustation journey (although you won’t want it to end!).
Perfect for breakfast connoisseurs, indecisive foodies and special occasions alike, 85 Miskin Street’s breakfast degustation is one to add to every keen foodie’s bucket list.
