Brisbane's best mojitos

Ah, the mojito. Delicious proof that mint and citrus isn’t always a disaster – take that, toothpaste and orange juice – and the embodiment of summer in a glass. The key to the perfect mojito is using the freshest of fresh ingredients (lime cordial? Thanks, but no thanks) and a bartender with the know-how (and know-when) to mix it up on occasion. We’ve rounded up a list of Brisbane’s best mojitos – both classic and a little bit twisty. Dandy’s Rooftop | South Bank Warm breezes, good company, rooftop city views and an ice cold mojito – we’re pretty sure a Sunday session at the Fox Hotel was what we dreamt of when we were teenagers planning the days when we could legally buy booze. Keep it Sunday casual with Dandy’s excellent original recipe mojito. Alchemy | CBD You’d be forgiven for expecting something doused in liquid nitrogen or torched with a flame from Alchemy, but their ‘Number 2’ cocktail is a surprisingly cool, calm and collected mojito completed with cucumber and a splash of Hendricks gin, perfect for a hot evening overlooking the Story Bridge. Riverbar & Kitchen | CBD As far as twists on classics go, the lychee mojito is an oldie but a goodie. Riverbar serves up an excellent glass of the good stuff, but if you think you can go one better sign up for their hot-right-now cocktail classes by the river. Are you a stickler for the originals, or one to throw caution in the air for a fruity alternative? And most importantly, did we miss a drool-worthy mojito that should have been on this list?
