You snooze, you lose.

Ready to be woke, Brisbane? It turns out that our usually sleepy town is home to a few foodie spots that keep chugging on until the stroke of midnight (or never even close)!

Whether you’re a certified night owl, insomniac, or a student looking for a caffeine fix – come burn the midnight oil with us at these cafes and restaurants.

Maeve | South Brisbane

Late night rants and raves call for Maeve, South Brisbane’s sleek European wine bar. Skip the Gossips (you’re better than that) and gossip over a delicious glass of red instead, with the restaurant’s up-late menu in hand. Their kitchen serves up gorgeous charcuterie, black garlic waffles, and more right up until midnight.

Maru | Brisbane City

Are you in the mood for Maru? Always! If you want to know the secret behind being open 11am-12am every day of the week, the answer is these guy’s irresistible Korean BBQ spreads.

Swap being heavy-eyed for just straight-up heavy by ordering their tasty assorted wagyu set or BBQ pork set tonight.

Heya Bar | Fortitude Valley

Hey ya! Outkasts are welcomed at this hole-in-the-wall bar, which remains open until witching hour from Wednesdays-Sunday! Head inside to experience the magic that is their delish karaage chicken bites or divine cheeseburger spring rolls – which somehow taste even better at 1am in the morning.

Pancake Manor | Brisbane City

No better place to enjoy late night salvation in the form of brandied apricot pancakes than Brisbane’s iconic Pancake Manor. Located in the heritage-listed St Luke’s church, this 24-hour restaurant is the perfect place to waffle on well past midnight with yummy pancakes that come both savoury and sweet.

Death Before Decaf | Fortitude Valley

Death before decaf, death before sleep – same thing, no? It may be the dead of the night, but at this inner-city café, it’s full steam ahead! Head in as they pump out iced blacks and flat whites all day, every day (and night) of the week.

Momo Chicken & Beer | Runcorn

What’s that going bump in the night? Only the ballers heading out to Momo’s for a late-night fried chicken feast! Toast to the fact you’re not waking up until 3pm the next day (food coma, anyone?) with their Korean draft beers and a pile of boneless sweet candy chicken.

Jimmy’s On The Mall | Brisbane City

It’s just a little too late? Jimmy would tell Jojo otherwise, with his 24-hour restaurant serving up delicious modern Australia plates to the wide awake all night long, seven days a week! Passersby can pass the time at this three-story masterpiece while enjoying eats like classic chocolate pudding and wagyu beef lasagne.

Mi Casa Café | Underwood

Mi Casa is your casa from 7am – 12am every day! Besides boasting the longest hours short of 24/7, this suburban café is also well known for dishing out quality burg’s and waffles no matter the hour. Chuck in the fact they also serve gelato and coffee and the question becomes not when you’ll head there, but… why would you ever leave?

Greaser Bar | Fortitude Valley

Stay up until the roosters start to crow with the help of fried chicken burgers from the Valley’s Greaser Bar! Open until 3am on Friday and Saturday nights, this burger joint is the one to hit when you want to the good time to roll on well past midnight.

Lucha | Brisbane City

Lucha like it’s your lucky night! These guys know best that nothing beats a strong cuppa at night, which is why they’ve filled their menu with food that has one ingredient in common – tea!

While delicious roast chicken with tea dipping sauce and tea-infused Peking duck are only available until kitchen close at 10pm, the restaurant serves take-away bubble teas and awesome cocktails well into midnight.

Sleep is for the weak (and caffeine deprived).
