Brisbane’s best breweries

For the days when Dad’s carton of Carlton just ain’t cuttin’ it.

Luckily, Brisbane’s abundance of top-quality craft breweries is here to help you transition from winter stouts and dark brews to the fruity, hop-laden flavours of summer!

For those looking to live lager-than-life no matter the season, look no further than our favourite Brisbane breweries.

RANGE BREWING | NEWSTEAD

Unlike other breweries, Range doesn’t offer one core line, instead continuously developing and innovating their modern range, refining their drops until they’re the best of the best. Drop by for a few cold ones in the chic industrial space, grab some pizzas and Italian-influenced nibbles, and prepare for some serious dog spotting!

STONE AND WOOD | FORTITUDE VALLEY

Last year, Stone and Wood brought their laidback vibes and impeccable brews up from Byron Bay, making a heritage-listed building on Bridge Street its second home. Rocking an eight-hectolitre brewhouse and five fermenters, the brewers produce one-off small batch beers exclusively for the venue, with the team pouring them straight from the tanks behind the bar.

CATCHMENT BREWING CO. | WEST END

As eclectic as the suburb it’s located in, Catchment Brewing Co. and its art deco-inspired bar are known for their bright ales and equally vibrant food menu. Their Vulture IPA is particularly delicious, while those looking for the next best thing should tap into their special release seasonal brews. Bar food at this joint is equally as funky, with a globally-influenced menu of snacks, pizzas and burgers, mains, and sides to enjoy with your brew.

GREEN BEACON BREWING CO. | TENERIFFE

Call us Gatsby, but we can’t stop pining for Green Beacon’s handcrafted, all-natural ales and beautiful industrial brewery fit-out. As for the best of their irresistible beers, the 7 Bells passionfruit gose and Wayfarer tropical ale get the green light from us!

ALL INN BREWING CO. | BANYO

Hmm. To order the robust porter or American IPA?

Whatever the choice, we’re all inn when it comes to this up-and-coming suburban brewery. While keeping busy with innovative seasonal releases, All Inn always has us coming back for more with their interesting core range. A Bill F. Murray malt liquor, anyone?

SOAPBOX BEER | FORTITUDE VALLEY

Who’s shouting?

While Soapbox offers a core range of classics, we love swinging by for one of their more eccentric brews, like the delicious Sweet Talker–an Iced Vovo-inspired biscuit ale. The food at Soapbox also talks the talk, with the likes of Ghanaian-style Wagyu, rotating curries, and bangin’ burgers on offer.

NEWSTEAD BREWING CO. | NEWSTEAD

Brewing since the 1940s, NBC’s success stems from their grassroots connection to the local community, who keep coming back for their tantalizing flagship range of hand-crafted beers. Catch them at the flagship in Newstead, or drop by the Milton location before or after catching a game at Suncorp!

FELONS BREWING CO. | CBD

They brew it, keg it, bottle it, and pour it. For a reasonably new addition to the Brisbane brewery scene, Felons is an already iconic sipping spot, with plenty of indoor spots, outdoor tables along the river, or space on the lawn for you to spread out and relax.

SEA LEGS BREWING CO. | KANGAROO POINT

Don’t let their giddy name fool you–when it comes to gorgeously crafted beers, these guys are men of (stainless) steel, boasting a slick industrial brewery and classic pale ale to boot.

Be sure to pick up a few cans of nitro milk stout next time you hops over to Kangaroo Point.

SEMI-PRO BREWING CO. | EAST BRISBANE

Is it just us, or do brews taste better when enjoyed in a backyard? For delicious home-grown beers sporting an extra dosage of nostalgia, look no further than the lovable Semi-Pro Brewing Co., whose suburban microbrewery and taproom can’t be beat.

Cheers, Brissie.
