It’s summertime, y’all.

From summer specials to hot new venues, the new season is kicking off in fine form!

If you love knocking back chicken wings, keep reading. WingHAÜS by Bavarian is putting on a three-month festival of wangs, with 13 limited-edition house-made sauces and rubs on offer! WingFest’s mild flavours start with the likes of salt and vinegar, nacho cheese, chicken salt and sweet and sour, before spicy boys like mango habanero and Caribbean jerk. If you’re completely out of your mind (secretly, same) and you want to crank the dial even further, the Nashville and vindaloo sauces will have you sweating! WingFest kicks off today, and runs until the end of February at the Edward Street hotspot. 

There’s a new Comuna Cantina in town, serving looks AND those Latin American street flavours we’ve come to love. Opening on Creek Street in the CBD on Thursday, December 3, Comuna Cantina will boast an impressive alfresco area–the perfect place to sip on their three new signature cocktails: Crème Brulee, Lemon Meringue and Strawberry Cheesecake. 

Fish Lane’s new Town Square has opened up to the public, with three exciting new dining spots to check out! Bar Brutus–little sibling to Julius Pizzeria–is a cosy bar slinging aperitivo and an impressive wine selection, while coffee kiosk Kiki serves up sweet treats and banh mi alongside your morning long black or lunchtime juice. Joining Bar Brutus and Kiki is Southside, which will open its doors this Friday, December 4! From the team behind Rick Shores and LIttle Valley, Southside will use Chinese techniques and traditions to dish up fragrant east-Asian cuisine. Count us in! 

Taking over the illustrious site previously home to Il Centro, COPPA is set to open shop before Christmas, offering casual indoor and alfresco dining with primo views. As for the eats, you can expect a seasonal menu that combines coastal Italian cuisine with the freshest Aussie ingredients. We’ll have more for you when COPPA opens this month!
