It’s been another delicious week in Brisbane, and we’re excited about a few tasty offerings around town, a fun new venue in the works, and a very special wine on shelves…
Wednesday, August 26 is National Dog Day, and Sit Stay Society Wines are marking the occasion with the launch of three very special half-bottle varieties, with 50 cents from every bottle donated to Pet Rescue. The 375ml bottles of Ruby’s rosé, Violet’s grüner veltliner, and Mario’s mataro/montepulciano are available exclusively through Dan Murphy’s and BWS for just $10 each! Go on, be a good boy.
We’re beyond excited to share the exciting news that Ling Lings is hosting bottomless dim sum brunches from this Sunday, August 30! The brunches, running from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm every Sunday are just $45pp. There are two different options for the banquet: a nine-course dim sum feast including samurai fries, prawn and ginger dumplings, pork belly baos, and sweet chilli karaage chicken; as well as a vegan eight-course version that includes tofu baos, veggie dumplings, salt and pepper tofu and more.
There’s a new late-night pasta bar popping up in the Valley from late September, and it sounds right up our alley (well, lane). Work on Uh Oh Spaghettio is currently underway in Bakery Lane and you can expect flashing neon lights, blasting ‘80s tunes, and a menu consisting of six pastas under 15 bucks. The late-night spot will be turning out bowls of pasta and pouring spritzes until 2 am on weekends, and we can’t wait to meet it.
La Belle Vie has this week opened its doors, bringing a taste of France to beautiful Bardon. A traditional French diner with a wholesome suburban feel, La Belle Vie is serving up classics like escargot with garlic and butter, poisson with Provençale crust, black olives, riesling sauce, leek fondue and mousseline, and a lush vanilla creme brûlée.
Are you a chicken parmi (or parma) lover? How about hot dogs? Well, what if we told you that you can taste a delicious hybrid of the two from this week? The Bonny View Hotel re-opened its doors last Friday, with an elevated gastro-pub style menu featuring the soon-to-be-iconic parmi dog. Picture a crumbed chicken sausage on a soft hotdog bun, topped with sweet Napoli sauce, crispy bacon, and liquid cheese. We’re picturing ourselves knocking three or four of these back, just quietly…
Well, now we’re drooling more than a Saint Bernard…
