The Wineslinger Awards (by Young Gun of Wine) have announced the Top 50 wine venues for 2020, and the list includes FIVE Brisbane sipping spots! Voted on by over 100 of the country’s leading sommeliers, winemakers, hospitality tastemakers and journalists, La Lune Wine Co., Maeve Wine, La Lupa, Cru Bar + Cellar, and Snack Man made the cut! People’s Choice voting is now live, so head over and pick your fav Brissie sipping spot! Better yet, Wineslinger is supporting Tip Jar: a hospitality relief fund that raises and directs money to those in the industry who need it most, with a $1 donation for every member of the public that votes!
In exciting sky-high news, the Terrace rooftop bar and restaurant is reopening its doors this Thursday, August 20! Sitting pretty on level 21 of South Bank’s Emporium Hotel, the Terrace is known for its breathtaking views over the CBD, South Bank and the Brisbane River, alongside its breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings. Newly appointed head chef Benny Lam will be launching a fresh new menu, with yummies like oysters with yuzu and lemon olive oil, spanner crab spaghetti, wasabi fries and chrysanthemum tea pavlova!
Popular food truck Mac From Way Back has been slinging mac ‘n’ cheese, juicy burgers and epic loaded fries around town for quite some time, and have this week announced their permanent home! Work has begun to open their bricks and mortar eatery in Woollongabba’s famous Logan Road dining precinct, taking over the old Sorellina space. Tentatively scheduled to open doors in late September, we’ll keep you posted with everything you need to know about this cheesy spot…
After opening its Coorparoo Square venue earlier this year, chicken legends Wing Fix have announced another of their eateries will open north of the river! Locked in for November, the new Wing Fix will take pride of place at Newmarket Village, rocking a menu of stacked burgers, fries, and crispy wangs doused in a range of signature sauces.
We had to finish things off with a sweet treat, and there’s no sweeter news than a new Nodo pop-up. The heavenly GF donuts will be available until Thursday, September 3 at Westfield Carindale’s pop-up (on level G, outside Coles), alongside other baked treats and pantry items.
Brissy has well and truly outdone itself.
