Brisbane’s tastiest cheap eats

Because your pockets don’t need to be empty for your tum to be full.

This one’s for all the savvy foodies out there! Whether you’re saving up for a post-lockdown getaway or your next payday isn’t for a little while, we’ve rounded up our favourite cheap eats so you can treat yourself without breaking the bank.

Bar Alto

Known around town as one of Brisbane’s best modern Italian restaurants (with a view that can’t be beaten), Bar Alto is rolling out a pretty exciting special for July and August!

Between 2.30 and 5 Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, make yourself comfy in the bar space and hoe into $10 pizzas. It’s pretty simple–bring your gang, order a ton of ‘zas, and use the money you saved to drink the afternoon away…

Fritzenberger

We are big fans of Fritzenberger and their tasty offerings. Heck, they even made our roundup of Brisbane’s best burgers.

The team at Fritzenberger has recently announced four new specials at their Caxton St and Wilston venues, which gives us yet another reason to get our weekly Fritzen-fix. We’re talking $10 burgers every Monday, 2-for-1 burgers on Tuesdays, 50c wings on Wednesdays, and between 3 pm and 6 pm on weekdays you can nab a local craft beer and four wings for just a fiver! To redeem these offers, just download the Fritzenberger app and scroll away.

Harajuku Gyoza

Got a pocketful of gold coins? Here, we’ll turn that into a pocketful of sunshine for you!

To cure your perpetual Mondayitis, the heroes at Harajuku Gyoza are offering $1 dumplings every Monday! Munch on morsels like grilled duck gyoza with spicy vinegar, or takoyaki gyoza for just one dollarydoo. To claim, simply download the Harajuku Gyoza app and you’ll be able to access other deals like 2-for-1 plates on Tuesdays, and 50c wings on Wednesdays!

Neesh

Not only does this Gabba hotspot have a massive menu full of yummy, affordable eats (hello $10 BLTs on weekdays!), it also dishes up some feasts that certainly fit our budget.

Start your day in the best possible way with Neesh’s boozy brunch (with a mega brunch grazing platter and bottomless mimosas for $50pp) or come back for dinner and enjoy the lazy banquet (we’re talking seven courses of share plates, including dessert, for $39pp).

Chu the Phat

If you’re anything like us, you get overwhelmed when looking at menus because you just want EVERYTHING.

Chu the Phat is helping us (and our bank balances) out, with their epic banquet available for just $40pp. Noone’s leaving hungry with everything from vegetable crackers, spring rolls and steamed duck buns to fried pigs’ tails, stir-fried pork belly, chilli chicken, spicy fish stew, steamed greens, cold broccoli and sesame, and steamed rice. Now that’s a mouthful.

The Boundary Hotel

This iconic West End watering hole is mixing things up on a weekly basis! Grab a tasty pub lunch for just $14 every Monday-Thursday, with the special changing weekly! Keep an eye on their Instagram and Facebook for the latest specials.

It’s always happy hour for us.
