Brisbane CBD Brunch & Breakfast Ideas - Gourmand & Gourmet

Brisbane CBD's finest brunch and breakfast spots

There is no doubting we are a great nation of sunshine, avocados and breakfast…

We refuse to believe that the great Australian morning ritual is limited to active wear, pups and the ‘burbs, and have taken it upon ourselves to wake up early-ish (11am is early right?) to seek out the shining stars of Brisbane CBD breakfast and brunch. Arm yourself with a knife, fork and some loose-fitting clothes – it’s time to eat your way through the top spots in the city.

Botero House

Brunch is a no-brainer for Botero House, who offer ridiculously good eats to get you through your day. Things can’t get much more Aussie breaky than a Weet-Bix panna cotta, or go all out with their decadent breakfast gnocchi loaded up with pork belly, braised peas, bacon, onion and sourdough.

Pablo and Rusty’s

You had us at breakfast burrito. Known for their expertise in coffee, Pablo & Rusty’s are sure to get you well and truly caffeinated, but certainly don’t discount their food menu. With options to go and a full dine-in menu available from 6:30am to 2pm, they have the location to boot and enough options to keep your breakfast and brunch cravings satisfied.

Felix For Goodness

If you’re looking for a cosy little hide away for an early weekday breakfast meeting or just a solo breakfast to soothe the soul, Felix will take good care of you! Not only do they boast a super healthy fresh menu, their interiors will have you in Instagram heaven. Sip on that golden turmeric latte and let the day start with some goodness.

Chouquette Edward Street

Definitely naughty but definitely delicious, Chouquette on Edward Street is the place to be if you want a French fix to start your day. Despite opening recently, this cosy spot has already marked its reign as one of the CBD’s best boulangeries thanks to its quality croissants and pastries. If you’re wanting an even sweeter treat, dig into delicacies like the strawberry tart or zesty lemon meringue, or go all out with millefeuille – caramelised puff pastry with vanilla crème, salted caramel and vanilla whipped ganache.

Brew Café and Wine Bar

Having been open for almost a decade now, Brew should know a thing or two about early mornings. Their traditional breakfast offerings are always perfectly executed, like the haloumi burger or big breakfast, or opt to take the healthy option with their Brew bowls of goodness.

Street Lab Specialty Coffee

Let’s face it… Every good day starts with coffee. Luckily, the team at Street Lab Specialty Coffee live and breathe the stuff, and know how to brew a perfect cuppa. Skip your regular flat white and mix things up by trying the deliciously unique pour over, Aeropress or syphon brews that have made Street Lab a household name. Enjoy a morning bite, courtesy of Chouquette, or a unique and decadent Japanese-style cheesecake from Mountain River, because why not?

Brisbane Marriott

Who doesn’t love all you can eat? (hello elasticated pants!) When it comes to brunch, all you can eat creeps into serious food coma territory, and Brisbane Marriott Hotel knows how to do a mean brunch spread. From pancakes to eggs Benny and mimosas aplenty, these guys have you covered for any sort of brunch outing.

So whether you’re team poached, scrambled or fried, there’s somewhere in the city cooking up the breaky of your dreams.
