Excited?! Us?! Always.

One of the best things about the festive season is that it’s completely appropriate to watch Elf every day in the lead-up to Christmas.  This year, bask in the festive cheer with the return of Big Screen on the Green showing your fave Christmas movies on the largest screen in the Southern Hemisphere!

Spread out on the lawn or take a seat in the stunning grandstands to catch one of the festive films to get you in the Christmas spirit. Elf will be kicking things off on Monday, December 16, followed by Polar Express on December 17. Obviously, How The Grinch Stole Christmas is in the mix on December 18, before finishing things on a high with Home Alone on December 19.

A movie night isn’t complete without snacks, so when you pre-book your ticket online make sure to check out the delicious hampers on offer! The Movie Pack has the essentials sorted, with entry, a large popcorn and a bevvie of your choice (a glass of house wine, sparkling or beer, or non-alcoholic drink) for only $10 per person.

At $55 or $85 for two movie-goers, the Aussie Christmas or Merry Christmas hampers will have you feasting on the likes of fresh Mooloolaba prawns, a selection of cheeses, fruits and crackers to make your own cheeseboard, wood-roasted salmon with crème fraiche and a mini baguette, prosciutto and honeydew melon, mango cheeks and cherries, and more! Be sure to pre-book your hampers so they’re ready to go come movie time.

If you’re keeping it low-key, entry is just a gold coin donation, and if you pre-register online you’ll also get a cheeky Frozen Fanta as well! If you decide not to go the hamper route never fear because you can make your own picnic with nibbles from food trucks on site. The movies start nightly at 7pm, but make sure to get there when gates open at 5:30pm to enjoy all the fun festive activities like face painting, Christmas carols and there might even be an appearance from Santa!

Don the Christmas sweater, rustle up the picnic blanket and mark ‘watch Christmas movies’ off your festive to-do list at Big Screen on the Green!
