Bakery Lane opens with Providore Markets

Tucked away off Ann St in Fortitude Valley lies Bakery Lane, a cozy new mecca for foodies and creative types alike. Brisbane has jumped on the laneway bandwagon of late, with the hidden laneway joining the ranks of Burnett Lane, Gresham Lane, Lane lane (just joking), Winn Lane and the soon-to-be-completed California Lane. After many drive-bys, peering through scaffolding and counting down the weeks, Bakery Lane is finally completed and ready to welcome food lovers, booze connoisseurs and local produce enthusiasts alike. Most of the laneways vendors are open and ready for business, with gluten-free goodies at I Heart Brownies sweetening up the Valley’s late night food offering and Lost Boy’s little brother The Tree House opening the doors on a Neverland escape with organic and preservative-free drinks and tapas. And Skull It Juice Bar (1st cousin to Tree House) is up and running, blending up cold pressed juices and smoothies for #cleaneating types. i heart brownies bakery lane brisbane Foodie spots yet to open in the laneway include Kiosk, an Asian inspired cafe and bar opening on the launch day, with treats and eats to take-away and The APO bar and eatery, both sibling venues to Laruche. To celebrate their opening, Bakery Lane will be kicking things off with a special Providore Markets on May 2 from 9am. Joining forces with the peeps over in Winn Lane, resident vendors will have special offers for market goers while a few small batch producers and local artisans will set up in the laneway itself. The party will continue well into the night, with live music from 3pm and drinks and snacks from Kiosk and The Tree House. But this isn’t a one-trick-pony – the Providore Markets will be making an appearance the first Saturday of every month (yay!), with an ever-growing list of local makers and shakers.crust and co bakery lane brisbaneYou’ll be able to get your paws on honey (snaps for the honey and bear pun right?) from Bee One Third, as well as fresh produce from The Falls Farm, Crust & Company Artisan Baking and probiotic superfoods from Raw Health Probiotics. Reverends Fine Coffee will be providing much-needed early morning caffeine with a pop up cafe and resident Skull It Juice Bar will have liquid greens for anyone who only left the Valley hours before. The Bakery Lane Providore Markets will be held the first Saturday of every month at 690 Ann St from 9am-1pm, and the Winn Lane markets just a short stroll away running from 10am- 3pm.
