A Kit Kat café has opened in Melbourne!

  • Food & Booze
The chocaholics of Australia have had their sweet, crunchy prayers answered because a Kit Kat Café has come to Melbourne! This comes after the success of the Create-You-Own Kit Kat pop up that dominated the southern city, but left those who jumped on the trend a little choco-late Kit Kat-less. But now, Kit Kat Chocolatory has permanently opened their doors in Melbourne Central with a menu of extreme, graffiti-inspired Kit Kats! Whoever said good things come in threes was wrong, or they hadn’t heard about the four deliciously extreme Kit Kats this café has to offer. They’ve turned the traditional wafers into edible art inspired by famous Melbourne locations. Taste test (and by that we mean ‘eat all of it in one bite’) the ‘Candy Craze’ – a collection of 100s & 1000s, pop rocks and rice crispies inspired by the by the festivities of Luna Park. The Little Bourke St inspired ‘Yo’ Maccha Me Crazy’ is making us crazy because we’re so far away from the sweet action. This variation combines white chocolate, matcha, toasted coconut and cornflakes. The St Kilda bar, named ‘Sundae Session’, has given a sweet and crunchy new meaning to the phrase, with a marshmallow, pretzel and jelly drop topped Kit Kat, while the final creation is the Hosier Lane inspired ‘Caramelising the Streets,’ topping a milk chocolate Kit Kat with caramel fudge, nougat, popcorn and potato chips. Holy fudge are we jealous of Melbourne! If none of those options leave your mouth on the floor and your hand reaching for the phone to call your travel agent, you have an option to customise your very own Kit Kat. So, it’s time to take a break and have a Kit Kat – except this will be the sort of break where you need flights and hotels. Words by Kate Stevens
