A hot chocolate festival is popping up in Melbourne!
20 Jul 2016
If there was ever a time we wished we lived in Melbourne, it’s now. Because while our mercury is already rising and making us wish we hadn’t spent so much on cute winter boots in the EOFY sales, those sweet and crafty folks over the border in Victoria have found a great way to fend off the winter blues, dedicating a whole frosty month to hot chocolate. Taking over the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery for the month of August, The Hot Chocolate Festival is an epic celebration of no less than 31 hot chocolate flavours. And if you decide to ditch the sunshine state for cooler temperatures, you won’t just find the typical cinnamon and caramel flavours, oh no. With 8 different flavours introduced each week, you’ll be sipping on chocolate brownie, Nutella, cookies & cream and even some secret, yet to be named, flavours. Plus, all hot chocolates are crafted using couverture chocolate and served with a giant handcrafted marshmallow (along with other sugary goodies) to knock you firmly into a sugar coma for the plane ride home. For the serious hot chocolate connoisseur, there are even daily tasting sessions where you can sip and savour eight hot chocolate flavours – sounds like an excuse to hit Melbourne every weekend to us! Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice Creamery is nestled about an hour outside of Melbourne so, if you’re ready to take your hot chocolate game to a whole new level, it’s time to get onto those budget flights.
