Indulge in the best food and wine the country the country has to offer at the Good Food and Wine Show! Meet, sample and purchase products from over 200 local, national and international exhibitors. You could meander down Tucker’s Natural Cheese Alley, find a new favourite beer in Brewers Lane, or go behind the labels of boutique producers in Artisan Square. The three day event will also include demonstrations from over a dozen celebrity chefs. Tickets range from $26 for general admission to $130 for VIP, and can be bought here.

The much-loved celebrity chef Luke Nguyen is launching his new book Street Food Asia, which has many of the recipes from the popular show of the same name. The host of Street Food Asia and Luke Nguyen’s Vietnam will be on the Queen Street steps of the Treasury Casino for meet and greets, and to hear about the delicious inspiration behind his new book. The Alden Street laneway behind The Wickham will be transformed into a haven of all things dessert, for one day only, so you can have dessert for breakfast, brunch, lunch, linner, dinner and everything in between. While your shoveling brownies, cupcakes, and anything else sweet you can find into your mouth, enjoy live tunes, pop-up bars featuring frosé and other delightfully sweet concoctions and savoury bar food from The Wickham. It’s basically the cheat day of your dreams!

BURGER EATING CHALLENGE | BREW MASTER’S | GRANGE | SAT & SUN | $50
Brew Master’s is celebrating ‘Octoburgerfest’ with a sky high burger eating challenge! Entrants must eat a burger containing a mighty six layers of meat patties and cheese topped with bacon, mesclun, tomato, caramelised onion, house made smoky bourbon BBQ sauce & mayonnaise, along with a large chips and flavoured milkshake in 20 minutes. Those who conquer this beast will receive a $50 Brew Master’s voucher and have the pride of getting their photo on the Burger Wall of Flame. Woolloongabba’s annual street festival is back, taking over Logan Road for a full day of market and food stalls, food trucks, live music, and outdoor dining. Head along to take in the sounds of the local bands who’ll be taking the stage and explore the art installations before you take a seat at one of the many restaurants in the area to enjoy an al fresco feed. Best of all, entry to the festival is free!
