4th of July fever takes over Red Hook
30 Jun 2015
Do you spend your nights dreaming of Texmexas? Call tomato sauce ketchup and squeeze it on your snags in the shape of Piedaho? Wish you were a Kale-ifornia girl? Well then you’ll want to celebrate the 4th of July in the most American way possible, and here in the ‘other’ Vegas, that way is heading to Red Hook for an Independence Day deal. Red Hook, who were doing New York street food before it was cool, are celebrating their first Independence Day (nawwww) with a special promotion from 4pm-midnight, so take off your pluggers, put on your cons, and get ready for a food baby, US style. For $30 you can get a Patriot Burger, made even more American by the red, white, and blue sauce you’ll find smothering you beef patty, fries, and a Budweiser boiler maker – which is served accompanied by a sneaky shot of moonshine. Because even if you identify as New Porkan, no Australian can turn down extra booze. If you’re not into the really hard stuff/ want to keep your delicious burger in your belly, Red Hook also has a selection of other brews and wines, as well as sides like buffalo wings and mac ‘n’ cheese squares to pair with your burger ($13 on it’s own). Or you could just go straight for a boozy delight like the spiked cream soda with vanilla vodka, vanilla ice cream and creaming soda. It’s like your childhood treat, only better. Given Red Hook’s super-convenient inner-city location, it’s the perfect place to start your celebrations before continuing the party elsewhere after midnight. But the moral of the story here kids, is always eat before you drink. And make sure it’s an appropriately themed meal!
