Spirited dinners, winter wonderlands and a very beer festival – it’s all happening this week for you to put in your diary! Wednesday 24 Check out Brisbane’s newest Greek restaurant | Atalanta | Hamilton Haven’t checked out Hamilton’s glam new spot yet? Well it’s about time you booked yourself in for dinner, and make sure you stay for dessert! With hearty, earthy modern Greek fare, a cocktail list that will leave you wishing you’d caught a cab and some seriously good looking sweets, we’re sure you’ll leave impressed. Thursday 25 A Dinner of Oddities and Curiosities | Brewski | Petrie Terrace Eccentric gypsy brewer Mikkeller and Brewski head chef Tim Sharp have put their heads together to create a five course meal with unique paired beers that your taste buds will go brew-zerk over! Places are very limited for this super exclusive event so make sure you grab your tickets sooner rather than later, available here for $99. Whisky Dinner | Malt | CBD If you’re after a whimsical night filled with the finest whisky and many a malt to satisfy your palate, then this event is for you. In honor of the arrival of the Yamazaki Sherry Cask for 2016, the crew at Malt will be hosting a 4-course cellar dinner. So if you love liquor, if you’ve got the nose for some of the world’s finest whiskies, look no further friends. Friday 26 Eats & Beats | Kingston Butter Factory | Kingston Eats & Beats is back, and it’s butter than ever because hosting the night this time round will be the Kingston Butter Factory. A whopping 29 food trucks will turn the factory into a buzzing night market full of delicious food and live entertainment from 5-9pm. Best of all, entry is free! Ice Festival | Sake | Eagle Street Pier To celebrate Japan’s famous Sapporo Snow Festival (and to battle the Australian summer heat), Sake will be transforming their riverside deck into a winter wonderland for the coolest (literally) party ever! The pop up bar will be serving up icy cold cocktails, plus there will be a live DJ and delicious complimentary canapés from 5-7pm. Saturday 27 Bites & Brews | Shafston Hotel | East Brisbane Shafston Hotel’s Bites & Brews Craft Beer & Cider Festival is back its second year, taking over the laneways around the hotel with craft brews and ciders and plenty of food trucks. Entry is free and the good times will be kicking off at lunchtime and winding up at 10pm, so there’s plenty of time for you to get yourself to Shafston Hotel to enjoy the Saturday fun. Sunday 28 Social Sundays | Riverbar & Kitchen | CBD With Monday just around the corner, why not enjoy the remainder of your weekend while it lasts at Riverbar’s pop-up wine bar with Brookevale Union Ginger Beer tasting from 3pm. Throw in some Giant Jenga and Giant Connect 4 and those Sunday sads will be gone before you know it. Gambaro Mud Crab Cup | Gambaro | CBD Who doesn’t want to spend an afternoon sinking brews, scoffing down seafood, and watching some crustaceans scuttle at speed? And it’s for charity you say? Winning! Supporting the Courier Mail Children’s Fund has never been easier or more fun, with a 3 course seafood lunch, live entertainment and auction to accompany the racing of our two-pincered pals. One of our favourite city bars is hosting an occasion that is sure to raise your spirits! On this rarest day of the year, head to The Gresham to sample a selection of rare and much sought after Pappy Van Winkle Whiskeys, including big daddys like the Family Reserve 15yo, 20yo and 23yo. Join Il Posto for their brand new Arosticini Nights every Wednesday evening and find out how the Italians do it. The weekly feed involves tender grilled lamb skewers seasoned simply with Italian herbs and spices, paired with flavoursome salads and plenty of red wine. How to be a BrewsVegan | Wandering Cooks | South Brisbane If you love all things beer related and are frothing at the mouth in anticipation of the upcoming Brewsvegas festival, this is the night for you. Enjoy the company of a few of Brisbane’s beer masters while you sip on a tasting paddle of four mystery beers, sample some hops inspired bar snacks and sweet treats from Alphabet Café and get a few inside scoops on the festivities.
