Don’t make plans to start hibernating just yet, there’s something for everyone on in Brisbane this week!
| King George Square | CBD
Brrrr! Winter is well and truly upon us now, but we can forgive the chilly weather and extra layers thanks to this year’s Winter Festival. Bundle up and embrace the cold in Brisbane’s King George Square with tons of winter wonderland fun. Jump in for a spin in the ice skating rink, barrel down slopes on a toboggan, or dodge those goosebumps over a luxury hot chocolate and a warm meal at the European style food markets.
Duck Duck Booze
| Petrie Terrace
Our favourite culinary fusion just got a little bit more appealing with this Thursday night indulgence (without the steep price tag). Wine down on a Thursday and purchase any bottle of wine at Libertine to receive four free Bang Bang BBQ duck a l’orange crepes to accompany it.
The Laneway Weekender
| Westfield North Lakes
We strongly suggest you make time for this commute. The Laneway Weekender is bringing live tunes, activities for the kiddies, delectable goodies, and pop-up bars to Westfield North Lakes. Running from 4pm-8pm on Friday and 12pm-8pm on Saturday and Sunday, there’s plenty of time to wrangle your mates for a session of eating, drinking, shopping, and grooving.
Picklebacks and Sliders
| Wandering Cooks | South Brisbane
While it may not tickle everyone’s tastebuds, this pickleback event promises to be a memorable night. The big dill at Wandering Cooks at this shindig is the (many) rounds of picklebacks – a deep breath, a shot of whiskey, then a shot of pickle brine – and sliders (for maximum pickle intake). We suggest dedicating one hand to shooter glasses and the other to sliders for best results.
| Fortitude Valley
Add some luxury to your Friday night and head downstairs to Cloudland’s Cellar Bar where you’ll be greeted by scrumptious tapas, top shelf tipples and entertainment from illusionists, magicians, dancers. The star of the show for this pop-event is Absolut Elyx, with cocktails, martinis and masterclasses showcasing the luxury vodka. Can’t make it? They’re also popping up on July 1 and 8.
