Rug up and get out there – there’s plenty of tasty things to eat this week!
UEFA Euro | La Dolce Vita
Looking for somewhere to watch the Euro that isn’t your couch? La Dolce Vita are throwing their doors open 24 hours a day for the entire Euro season! That’s right – you can grab a pizza and a beer for dinner before the game then stay all night to cheer on your favourite teams, with coffee and cake available all night to keep you going until 5am!
Trivia | Victoria Park
Gather your brainiest friends and put all your useless fun facts to good use at Victoria Park Bistro’s trivia night. From 7pm you can eat, drink and battle strangers for the title of who the smartest (i.e. who knows the most random stuff). The winners not only take home the ‘trivia champions’ title but they’ll also receive a $50 voucher for the bar and bistro so you can celebrate your win with pizza and beer.
| Fortitude Valley
Add some luxury to your Friday night and head downstairs to Cloudland’s Cellar Bar where you’ll be greeted by scrumptious tapas, top shelf tipples and entertainment from illusionists, magicians, dancers. The star of the show for this pop-up event is Absolut Elyx, with cocktails, martinis and masterclasses showcasing the luxury vodka. Can’t make it? They’re also popping up on June 24, and July 1 and 8.
| King George Square | CBD
Brrrr! Winter is well and truly upon us now, but we can forgive the chilly weather and extra layers thanks to this year’s Winter Festival. Bundle up and embrace the cold in Brisbane’s King George Square with tons of winter wonderland fun. Jump in for a spin in the ice skating rink, barrel down slopes on a toboggan, or dodge those goosebumps over a luxury hot chocolate and a warm meal at the European style food markets.
Sunnybank Food Trail
| Sunnybank Plaza | Sunnybank
Gather up your spare change and put on your stretchy pants, Sunnybank Food Trail is back! Over 35 venues will be taking part in this year’s food trail, each offering $2 tasting plates for you to get a taste of each venue without filling up at the first stop. The tour runs from 2pm until 8pm so you can look forward to an afternoon and evening full of dim sums, noodle soup, dumplings and all your favourite Asian eats.
Brazilian Folk Winter Festival
| Boundary Hotel | West End
Vira Lata Food Truck
is turning 2, and to celebrate, they’re appearing at the Boundary Hotel’s Brazilian Folk Festival! Head along for scrumptious South American street food, hot mulled wine and plenty of entertainment and tunes. It all kicks off at 6pm!
Dining in the Dark
| Pony Dining
Talk about a blind tasting! In an effort to raise funds for Vision Australia’s children services, Pony Dining at Eagle Street Pier is unleashing a unique dining experience on Brisbane palates. Close your eyes and let your tastebuds guide you in this dark dining experience. The three-course lunch will include popular Pony dishes like Chinese pepper squid, gnocchi, and sticky toffee cake. Personally, we think it’s more fun if you’re in the dark on the rest of the menu. Entry to the event and a three-course lunch with beverages will run you $130, and participants will also enjoy a variety of games and raffle prizes!
Park Food Trucks
| Alderley Avenue | Alderley
Brisbane’s best food trucks are spoiling us for choice again! The ever-popular Park Food Trucks are trundling over to Alderley for this round of picnic-rug feasting. Catch up with some friends, stuff the family full with food truck goodies, or simply pop down for a quick bite and some live music.
Sunday Family Laneways
| Stones Corner Hotel | Stones Corner
Looking for a way to spoil the family? Sunday Family Laneways are coming to the Stones Corner Hotel, and it’s going to be huge. Bring the fam on down for a free day of local music, kid-friendly fun (prepare for excited squeals over the petting zoo!), and your favourite foodies from The World Food Markets. Pit Stop Wings and Little Back are among the food trucks set to line up in Stoneham Lane behind the hotel. Feel free to bring your feast into the hotel to pair with a chilled brew!
Chef Series I | LONgTIME
| Fortitude Valley
LONgTIME is gearing up to host four of Australia’s best chefs over the next few months, starting with the legendary Martin Boetz of Longrain. For $120, treat yourself to a Thai degustation like no other, with seatings at 5.30pm and 8.30pm. Contact LONgTIME to book.
The Laneway Weekender
| Westfield North Lakes
We strongly suggest you make time for this commute. The Laneway Weekender is bringing live tunes, activities for the kiddies, delectable goodies, and pop-up bars to Westfield North Lakes. Running from 4pm-8pm on Friday and 12pm-8pm on Saturday and Sunday, there’s plenty of time to wrangle your mates for a session of eating, drinking, shopping, and grooving.
Picklebacks and Sliders
| Wandering Cooks | South Brisbane
While it may not tickle everyone’s tastebuds, this pickleback event promises to be a memorable night. The big dill at Wandering Cooks at this shindig is the (many) rounds of picklebacks – a deep breath, a shot of whiskey, then a shot of pickle brine – and sliders (for maximum pickle intake). We suggest dedicating one hand to shooter glasses and the other to sliders for best results.
