Hop down to Southbank’s Convention Centre for a day of family entertainment, gluten-free treats, and ingredients to stock up your kitchen with. You’ll also be able to chat to the experts about gluten-free diets and coeliac disease, and Masterchef finalists Courtney Roulston and Michael Weldon will be performing cooking demonstrations all afternoon. Breakfast Creek Carnival | Breakfast Creek Hotel | Breakfast Creek Dust off your feathered headpieces and put on the brightest (smart attired) outfit you own to celebrate the Breakfast Creek Hotel’s 127th birthday in style, with live entertainment from Brazilian performers, dancers and musicians. There’ll be Brazilian street food with a Creek twist, and full bar facilities included in the ticket price, which can be purchased here.

Regatta Laneway Festival | Regatta Hotel | Toowong The Regatta Hotel are celebrating all things wine with a two day, free celebration. Turning the venue’s Laneway into an ode to wine, there’ll be over fifty international and local wines to sample, along with gourmet food stalls created by the Boatshed restaurant, plus live acoustic music and DJs until late. Think fairy lights, garden walls and an abundance of the good stuff, it’s going to be grape! Cake Expo | Eagles Sports Complex| Mansfield Brisbane’s Cake Expo is coming to Mansfield, and there’s no way we’d miss a whole day dedicated to cake love. Along with stalls and exhibitors (and samples), there will be plenty of cake fun to engage in, such as decorating classes, demonstrations, and giveaways. When the kids need to run off that sugar high, they’ll find jumping castles, face painting, and cupcake decorating to keep them busy. Pre-purchased tickets are $15, and $18 at the gate. Riverside at the Garden’s Market | Botanical Gardens | CBD From 8am-3pm every Sunday, you’ll find one of Brisbane’s best craft and farmers markets in Brisbane’s Botanical Gardens. It’s the perfect way to get the family out, about, and engaging with the Brissie community (and by community, we mean food).

Though we’ll just be intent on gorging on loukomades, you may want to go along for the eating competitions, cooking demonstrations and entertainment, not to mention the culture! The event kicks off at 12pm on Saturday and 10am on Sunday and will only set you back $10 for adults with free entry for under 13s.
