Like all good ideas, Brewsvegas
was conceived over life’s preferred social lubricant and lowerer of inhibitions worldwide: the humble pint of beer. A grass roots, week-long nod to craft beer culture and the Brisbane venues that support it, the festival kicks off its fourth year on Friday, March 10, and everything’s looking beer.
From beer-flavoured ice cream to an epic chilli cook-off, this year promises to be bigger and better than ever. With over 100 events planned for the week, Brewsvegas is giving you 100 great reasons to get out there and raise a cold one with your mates – these are just a few of our top picks for the week!
The Milton Good Beer Trail | The Scratch, Aether Brewing, Newstead Brewing & Brewski | Milton | $20 | March 10-19
What better to kick off a week of beer drinking than with an epic pub-crawl! At just $20 a ticket you and your mates will get the chance to stroll through one of the cities best beer-saturated neighborhoods and sink a different complimentary schooner at each bar, PLUS a collector’s stubby cooler to remember your evening (just in case things get a bit hazy towards the end of the night).
If you have a hankering to experience all the sights, sounds and flavours South America but are lacking the funds for a flight to Peru, Brewsvegas has got you covered. The South American Street Party will be a Latin extravaganza, with live music and traditional food delightfully paired with Aussie craft beers. You’ll feel like you’re in the heart of Rio (even though you’re conveniently right down the road from Nudgee Station).
Forget coffee and toast, everyone knows that the best way to start your day is with beer. Head down to Brewhouse for a breakfast inspired by all things brewing: spent grain-fed bacon and eggs, beer sausages, brewery bread, a stout breakfast cocktail, fresh orange juice and a Chilly Hillbilly Bloody Mary. $40 will get you 4 courses and 4 beers – don’t mind if we brew.
Japanese Game Show Night | Zero Fox | Tenneriffe | Free entry | Monday 13

Modus Operandi is joining forces with the Victoria Park Golf Complex for a game you’ll never forget. And after you finish up, head to the club’s bar and enjoy a gorgeous view of the Brisbane skyline, more beer and delicious food! Also, the winner gets to take home a keg of beer, so you bitter take it seriously.
Hopfields | Bloodhound Bar | Fortitude Vally | Free | Saturday 18
There will be beer coming at you like a brew-zooka attack at this event with a gnarly selection of beers, hop-infused spirits, beer cocktails, hop-infused food, live music and hoppy fun times! If that’s not all novel enough for you, they’ll also be pouring one-off brews, collaborations and beers never sipped before.
If beer drinking were an Olympic sport we’re pretty confident we’d see an influx of Brisbane athletes going for gold. Appropriately hosted in the carpark of the Newstead Brewing Co., Brewsvegas is going out with a bang with the Beerylympics! Think inflatable obstacle courses, multiple prizes, and of course, a whole lot of beer. Grab your 3 most agile drinking buddies and gear up for some athletic excellence.
The Kettle & Tin are pairing up with Brewsvegas to bring the heat! Featuring a meat market, BBQ showcase, live music and of course, the cook-off itself. Grab tickets at the door and get ready to sample the best chili Brisbane has to offer, from some of this town’s chili masters.
And if none of that tickles your fancy, well you might want to check your pulse, but there are plenty more events (like 90 more – seriously, go check them out) to choose from at the Brewsvegas
