If you thought The Notebook was tragic, try getting your car professionally cleaned, only to realise the next day that there was a dust storm overnight and your car now appears as though it featured in a BCF commercial.
Instead of shaking a fist to the sky and yelling “WHYYYY”, we picked ourselves up, dusted ourselves (and our car) off, and instantly forgot about it when we saw the stellar line-up of new eats coming to Queensland.
West End is booming, and for the Boundary Hotel, a $3.5 million renovation is a new beginning. Spanning over three levels is a brand-new beer garden, a rooftop bar, private dining rooms, a public bar, and a laneway bar; as well as a wood-fired pizzeria, and a coffee shop, open from 6am. Complete with a new, industrial look, Boundary Hotel’s focus is now set on high quality dining, and so is ours.
A modern Middle Eastern eatery is making itself home in Underwood, opening next week. As well as serving freshly made shakshuka, Lebanese pizza, falafels and more, Abboud Bakery aims to support Syrian refugees with employment opportunities, and offers grab-and-go options to diners on the dash.
Wine and dine the day away at Nobby Beach’s new restaurant, Frederick’s. On top of a breakfast and brunch menu with dishes like local sand crab omelette, waffles with whipped Nutella, and tartine of roasted pumpkin, there’ll also be perfectly paired wines to accompany the lunch and dinner menu. If you’re not sold already, just know this; you can enjoy cocktails from 10am. Just saying.

Camp Hill’s French-inspired café and wine bar is dedicated to serving the freshest cups of Allpress coffee throughout the day, transforming into an artisan cheese and wine bar by night. Indulge in cheese boards, cocktails, simple yet delicious dishes, and tapped beers to your heart’s content.
If you’re familiar with Bali’s Mrs Sippy and Sydney’s Manly Wharf Hotel, we’ve got some news that’s sure to excite. Sitting pretty on the Gold Coast beachfront, the $10 million Burleigh Pavilion will open in December, offering a tantalising cocktail menu including the Burleigh Barrel with Bacardi Fuego spiced rum, strawberry, and Licor 43, and the Rosy Gin Kombucha from its restaurant, The Tropic.
