It’s been one delicious success after the other for Tom Sanceau and Bonnie Shearston with their hospitality Midas touch.  With top-notch venues such as Public (co-owned with Jason White), Coppa Spuntino and Red Hook already under their belt, they aren’t stopping there. London Fields, a British inspired gastropub, is set to open in West End early next week, adding English bistro fare to their line up of American and Italian eateries. Tucked away on the corner of Montague and Raven Street, the gastropub is all about relaxed dining, with everything from Sunday breakfast with the family to afterwork drinks on the cards. And with the menu featuring plenty of classic dishes given a gourmet spin, it might just be your new favourite for more than one meal of the day. Nose to tail eating is the theme here, with Head Chef Con Tsangaris creating rich, hearty bistro fare perfect for the current weather. Sit yourself by the bar in the classy but relaxing interior and tuck into small plates like roasted bone marrow with thyme and onion, crispy pork tail and smoked tongue, or something a little less fancy – but equally delicious – like the Wagyu cheeseburger and beer battered chips (what’s a gastropub without a cheeseburger, after all?). Feeling a bit hungrier than bar bites? In the bistro, you can linger over mains like organic chicken breast with turnips, barley and sorrel, or race your fellow diners to finish shared meals like lamb shoulder and whole roasted pork belly with sides of caramelized brussels sprouts and roast cauliflower. And more of those beer battered chips, of course. Finish it all off with an Eton mess, some creamy cheese and then hang out at the bar sipping craft beer and cocktails for the rest of the night. Though be warned, the Start Me Up, a devilish concoction of gin, lime, Maraschino, Chartreuse and rosemary, might lead to other things. Luckily, London Fields has your Sunday hangover cure sorted too, with morning feeds like braised beans with poached egg on sourdough and, for something lighter, granola or ricotta and honey topped fruit bread. Whether you’re already a fan of the popular Public, Red Hook or Coppa, or you’re yet to try a Tom and Bonnie venue, you’ll want to get into London Fields before the crowds start piling in.
